I had a horrible experience at Lithia Dodge off of staples. I bought 2 new vehicles there in the span of a week. The truck I bought was an eco diesel and I was happy with it because I was getting 26 m staples. I bought 2 new vehicles there in the span of a week. The truck I bought was an eco diesel and I was happy with it because I was getting 26 miles to the gallon. I got a message on the console saying incorrect def see dealer. I did and it was a sensor in the def tank that was on national back order. They didn’t know if or when they could get it. They said they would only cover a rental for a week then after that I needed to take care of the bill. They said pick out a truck. I looked for another eco diesel but they only had one on the lot that was 60k. The sales Manager was very rude and condescending. I felt like they didn’t want to make it right. I was forced to get into a 5.7 hemi which is a gas guzzler . The whole reason I traded in my Toyota Tundra was because of gas mileage. I finally realized I needed a truck because I use it for work. They said they would throw in a bedliner and a tri- fold bed cover. I went in for the bed liner and asked if they ordered the tri-fold. The salesman said no. His boss told him to order the soft cover roll open Velcro cover. I told him that’s not what we agreed to. He said “I know. It’s just that the tri- fold was more expensive than they thought”. I asked for the managers name through text and he stopped all communication with me. After sending emails and getting on line to complain I was given the runaround. “They will contact you shortly” . This happened for 4 days. Finally I called the sister dealership and they apologized for what was going on. They gave me a person and email to contact. Not 10 minutes after I called the sister dealership I got a call from the dealership in question. He said that they have the cover and it was the hard shell tri- fold. He apologized about how they were treating me. I made an appointments to get it installed. I went to get it installed and told them that I was there for the tri fold bed cover. They took my truck and installed the roll away Velcro bed cover. I told them that wasn’t what we agreed to. The service agent said the only thing authorized was the soft cover. I gave her the name of the person that authorized the tri fold. She went and talked to him. She came back and said that it was approved. She said that she told him they needed to communicate with them about parts and services if there were any changes. She said his response was “oh well”. They finally installed the right cover. I have been a Toyota guy since 2012. I have bought 7 vehicles since then and never had any issues with any of my Toyotas. I am a repeat customer and Lithia dodge wants to treat customers like this? That’s not how you get repeat customers. I am a salesman and I do whatever it takes to make things right with my customers. Lord knows that there will always be mishaps, mistakes, and complaints in this industry. More
