OUR HISTORY
Walt DeBoer founded Lithia Motors in 1946 as a Chrysler-Plymouth-Dodge dealership in Ashland, Oregon. Following Walt’s death in 1968, Walt’s son Sid along with Dick Heimann, grew the business to include 5 stores and 19 franchises in Southern Oregon. In December 1996, this collection of dealerships was transformed into Lithia Motors, Inc., a publicly traded company (NYSE stock symbol-LAD). We envisioned a company that would continuously grow, provide great customer service, and opportunities for employees.
TODAY
Lithia is one of America’s largest automotive retailers featuring most domestic and import franchises. Our stores serve urban and rural populations throughout the Western and Midwest United States.
We are focused on providing customers with an honest and simpler buying and service experience. We are giving customers straightforward information so that they can make confident decisions.
We believe that our local communities are our lifeblood. In addition to the employment opportunities we provide in each of our neighborhoods, we also provide contributions to charitable organizations that serve our families, friends, and customers.

My fiancé and I came in for our first, official car purchase and left with an amazing deal! Cherae Cozzi is an incredible person and she went above and beyond to make our dreams come true. The staff was incredibly accommodating and very friendly! Despite our many doubts, pondering, price checking, credit hoops and many questions…we were able to walk away with a practically new Tucson. We are very satisfied with our experience and felt very comfortable 100% of the way. We were in good hands and feel like Cherae and the rest of Lithia’s staff did their absolute best for us! 2 service visits for something I should have gotten with 1. Serious problem, but might be a Hyundai problem in the they might not allow their mechanics to problem solve without making them check off cheaper 1. Serious problem, but might be a Hyundai problem in the they might not allow their mechanics to problem solve without making them check off cheaper solutions….so for me the customer, it added up to 5 hrs waiting between the 2 visits…for one recall (the fix should have been 15 min max) and 4.75 Hrs for replacing a USB port so that the Appleplay worked….they didn’t actually think they fixed the problem. …but they did, bc when I got the car back I discovered that the setting had been changed while in their care, to the other option, not iPhone. Also cost me 3 hrs total drive time for these 2 visits. Not pleased…. More

This dealer and my sales rep Cherae Cozzi, really went above and beyond to help me find what I was looking for. Cherae has a wonderful personality and took the time to listen to what my needs were and wh above and beyond to help me find what I was looking for. Cherae has a wonderful personality and took the time to listen to what my needs were and what I was looking for. I'm not big on the high tech stuff and she explained a lot of it to me and made it understandable. I am a big man, basically from injuries suffered during deployment and put on weight, the vehicle that Cherae and Mike chose for me was perfect ! Thank you so much for your great service... From one service member to many... Excellent Job! I will recommend to all my family and friends, Lithia Hyundai of Reno ! ;-) More
