We do not trust their mechanics anymore. I recommend you steer clear of working with Lokey. We were initially very happy. We purchased a very nice Jetta from Lokey and along with the purchase we’re getting free oil changes from the dealership’s mechanics. We had all the services performed at the dealership and felt like they were treating us right… until recently. With only around 60K miles on the vehicle, when we bring it in for simple service, we always walk out with scary sounding, very expensive repair recommendations. The last straw was that, right after we had them replace our batter (for more than $300!) we started having all the warning lights alarming and bells ringing. We brought the vehicle in hoping for an easy fix thinking that, since the alarms weren’t a problem before the battery change, they could set things right. Nope. We were quoted $640 for a sensor replacement for one of the wheels. I let Lokey we were finished buying vehicles or service from them and that we were finished because we lost confidence that they weren’t taking advantage of our trust in them. The person I spoke with claimed they would replace the sensor for free and when we picked up the car and for a week or so after there were no lights but the lights are back. They either didn’t replace the sensor or they misdiagnosed the problem… I’m quite unhappy but would have been irate if we had paid the $640 only to have the problem resurface. I’ve lost all confidence in them and now am even unwilling to take advantage of the “free” oil changes for fear that they will discover another problem that needs attention. I just can’t afford their “free” services it seems. How agonizing it is to not be able to trust a mechanic even when they are a part of a larger company like Lokey. Frustrating… disappointing. I recommend people steer clear of them. More
