I recently took my car into the dealership because my mechanic believed it was burning oil, as there was no oil in my car on routine oil changes (2). My mechanic shared that this was a common problem with Hyundai SUVs. My mechanic, instructed me to take it to the dealership for them to look at. I took it to the dealership, presented the receipt from my mechanic and I was instructed, by Gary the service man, to come back after I drove the car in additional thousand miles so they could do tests on it then. When I brought it back, they had to take a gasket off and take pictures. But then they didn’t have parts for a week to replace this gasket they took off. So while the cost was under warranty for the engine, I am out $400 for a rental car. I asked to speak with the service manager on two different occasions and never heard back from him. Gary, the service person I was dealing with, told me that the service manager was in surgery and that’s probably why he never got back to me and there was nobody else available at the dealership to speak to my service concerns as they were on a “skeleton“ crew. Now I have to drive my car again for another thousand miles and bring it back, and not sure how much this is going to cost me. I love my Hyundai, but I will not buy another if Hyundai does not do right by me, specifically reimbursing me for the costs I have incurred while they test my car. When your cars have a known defect, it is beyond me that an adequate inventory of parts needed to fix the problem are not kept in stock. More
Our Service Advisor Javer did a fantastic job keeping up informed on the status of our repair. The issue was complicated (Hybrid system electrical issues), so it take over 2 months to get root cause identif informed on the status of our repair. Javer did provide us with a loaner vehicle during that time, and that gesture was greatly appreciated. More
