GREAT people to buy a car from. I did not feel pressured, "taken advantage" of, or disregarded. Everyone was very polite and treated me as a person rather than a "walking dollar sign". First I show up to purchase a 2021 Prius just before Christmas. With 115,000 miles on my 2011 Prius it was getting to the point in my head where I was wondering when I would start to have issues that w Christmas. With 115,000 miles on my 2011 Prius it was getting to the point in my head where I was wondering when I would start to have issues that would require work – something I have little patience for and always seems to happen at the most inconvenient times. There was really only have one special request, based on personal experience I did not want a foam/blow up strategy in place of a spare tire. A couple of years ago I had a rental car and drove over a sharp rock and instead of the spare tire, there was a can of pressurized foam which was completely useless. I ended up walking out of where I was 30 miles and swore I would never again rent or own a car without a spare tire. The sales person, Jessie, agreed with his managers approval to add a spare tire that could be put in the extra space that would be available since the tire was not there. The process to purchase this car took 3 hours – inconceivable to me. There appears to be no efficiency in your system. I was paying cash so financing was not an issue that added any time. Perhaps people like spending that type of time purchasing a car but I am a buyer not a shopper and it seemed like a huge waste of time. I had not experienced that any other time I had purchased a vehicle. So, I scheduled the pickup on the 26th at 10:00 and asked ahead of time how long I should expect the process to take. I was told 1 to 1.5 hours. I showed up at 9:45. Again, there was no urgency in the system but eventually I gave up the keys to my 2011 Prius and we went to see the new car. It looked absolutely great – until I checked for the spare tire. Not only was it not there (I was told it needed to be ordered) but when I lifted up the cover in the back, there was no room for the tire. Apparently no one though to check and see if there was space for it as there was in my old vehicle. Jessie got the sales manager (I cannot remember her name) and we all agreed that there was no room for it. Jessie suggested I just put it in the trunk area but that was not an acceptable solution – actually it was a rather foolish one. The sales manager walked away leaving Jessie to deal with the problem. I then asked what my options were and Jessie suggested the Rav4. I had never been in one before that I remember despite renting lots of cars in my travels (I was thinking the other day and I had to venture a guess that I have rented something on the order of 1,000 cars in my life – generally if they start, have a steering wheel, brakes and a full tank of gas I am happy). So, I said I would drive one and did. It was fine but certainly not want I really wanted as it is bigger than my needs and does not get as good a gas mileage. But not seeing too many options, I agreed to take it and pay an extra $6,500 for it. Honestly, I was expecting some financial consideration for the hassle and disappointment but that was not offered. I was told there was a need to prep it so I left, ran an errand and was back in an hour and a half. The vehicle was still not ready. So I waited (and waited) again. Finally Jessie told me it was ready and I signed the new paperwork. We went to the vehicle and after a walk around, I got in and discovered it was not the vehicle I had driven but a model with less features. I am not sure what happened but from my perspective it was a bait and switch. I told Jessie that I had experienced enough for the day and just wanted my old vehicle back. Jessie said something about the dealership now owning my old vehicle and I just again said I wanted the to undo things and leave. He walked off and came back and offered me the vehicle I drove earlier in the afternoon for the same price. I was so tired of the process I reluctantly agreed and waited again until it was ready. I finally got the vehicle and drove off about 5:30. The entire process took close to 8 hours. I did not get the vehicle I wanted and honestly wish I had never set foot in the dealership. It is bigger than I want or need, does not get the mileage I was looking for and the entire process left me simply so exhausted and disappointed that I am not sure I will ever be happy with the vehicle.
