Our salesperson, Jeffrey Hurst, was genuinely one of the most personable and disarming salespeople I have encountered in decades of buying cars, and I mean that as both a compliment and a caution. My wife and I came to Subaru Superstore of Surprise on April 30th to purchase a new Crosstrek as an anniversary gift — our 32nd — and to trade in our 2024 Ascent, which we had also purchased at this dealership just five months prior. We left feeling good about the experience. Within days, however, a careful review of the contract revealed a series of significant discrepancies between what was verbally agreed upon during negotiations and what appeared in the final paperwork — including a trade-in value $2,500 below the agreed figure, charges for optional products we were never informed of or asked to authorize, and a warranty transition that was not handled as represented to us. I have been in direct communication with Sales Manager Jerry Wood, who has been responsive and professional, and I genuinely hope this is resolved fairly. But I would be doing a disservice to Subaru of America — and to other customers — if I described this experience as fully satisfactory when it was not. We are both 100% disabled combat veterans who trusted this dealership based on a prior positive purchase, and that trust was not fully honored. I hope Subaru of America will take note of this transaction and follow up accordingly. More
