Will NOT accept CU check I drove over 2 hours to look at a used truck, after looking at it and showing interest in it, we were able to come to an agreement on a purchase price I drove over 2 hours to look at a used truck, after looking at it and showing interest in it, we were able to come to an agreement on a purchase price plus taxes and fees. My wife and I sat with the salesperson and I told him I had already secured my own financing. I showed a "same as cash" check obtained from Schools First Credit Union. He took it because he said he was going to check if they would take it. After a while he came back and said that they ("they" I assume is the finance department) have "never seen" a check like that but that they would need to do some kind of an option purchase contract. Why would I need to apply for financing again when I already told him I secured it? So I asked him directly with my wife sitting in the room "will you take this check Yes or NO?" He said NO. How can you not accept a school district employee's credit union same as cash check? In addition, since the deal never closed the salesperson sent un-professional texts from two different phones. Something is shady about this dealerships business practices. I will make it a goal that other school district employees not do business here and report it to Schools First Credit Union to flag this dealership. More
