I need to call Rick Bishop and Joseph Bailey of Bernie - anemicblnde
I need to call Rick Bishop and Joseph Bailey of Bernie Bishop Mazda out on their opportunistic and nefarious work ethics. I'm pretty sure it's illegal as well to break something on a customer's vehicle and make them pay for it. I have been beyond patient, giving them every opportunity to make things right or speak with me.
I have a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 5.7 Hemi with a leaking rear main seal. First I have a thousand dollar tune up done on it where they fail to diagnose the leaking seal. I honestly only stuck with going to these guys because of the loaner car or courtesy ride. I live in Smith river. So taking a taxi to and from costs me an extra hundred dollars for every service. When I came to get my Jeep after the seal was installed, Joseph Bailey said, I hope you have full coverage insurance with a smirk. He tried to hand me the keys and told me. There was a miss on cylinder eight. He proceeded to charge me $3400 for a new wiring harness and took a month and a half to do it. Only to get it back to my house and have half the oil leak out in my driveway. Apparently, I need a $1600 oil pan gasket now. A quick Google search and checking out the jeep forums told me that usually when a rear main seal is done, the oil pan gasket is done as well. I scheduled the service and when I went to drop it off I saw Joseph ducking out the back door . I got a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach and I left. On my way home my car's oil light came on and it died in the middle of the 101. Thankfully, I wasn't making a left in front of a logging truck or on the Thomas Creek bridge. There is now oil coming from my tail pipe.
I was told my car had major huge, big rodent damage in an exaggerated manner as if i was an idiot , and I said, why was that missed on the thousand dollar tune up? He said oh, the mechanic had to put a tiny little camera someplace. What no pictures? I am pretty familiar with whats under the hood of my vehicle.
During all of this, they were working on my 1991 miata, as well. It had suddenly lost all its oil and what did register was thick. I asked them to fix this and do whatever it needed to get it back in good shape. And he said yep yep yep . $875 tune up. He did not mention the valve cover gasket being faulty or I would have scheduled service right away and not driven it. It proceeded to lose all its oil out on my driveway right beside my jeep. He then proceeded to charge me $250 or more to rediagnose it a second and third time. I get the valve cover gasket, done, get it home. It's leaking oil all over the driveway. Back in for another $275 service.
Since mid march I have given them $7500 to not have a running vehicle that I can even grocery shop in. I mentioned this to Joseph, and he said, maybe it's time to buy a new car! I brought up the wiring harness, and he said, well yeah, it was brittle. But wait, I thought it was rodent eaten? From what I can tell it's still the same xxxx harness. Apparently they are not going to do anything to make this right as I asked for a meeting with the owner to discuss a resolution and received no response. I want to make the community aware of their predatory opportunistic practices, especially towards women and senior citizens. I witnessed multiple accounts of this while being drained of my savings by them. I cannot move forward as I no longer have reliable transportation nor any more savings to go anywhere else to have this fixed. I will be seeking litigation and warning every person I meet not to do business with Bernie bishop Mazda.
