Dawn, I apologize that things were not broken down clearly enough for you. There does need to be a little context. We offer a cash for clunkers special, a minimum of $7000 for any trade towards any pre-owned car on our lot. It does not matter the condition, every car qualifies. This month as a special we moved it to $8000. In your case, from the get go, without negotiating and without haggling, we offered you an additional $2000 for your trade to bring it to a total of $10000. We had placed a value of your car at around $2000. Now you are free to think what you car is worth, but that is the value the wholesaler is going to buy it from us. It was a 188,000 mile vehicle, with an accident, some body issues, and a check engine light on. There was no more value to it. That being said, of course there is mark up in our used vehicles, but there is no way there is over $10000 mark up in them. We would never be able to sell them then. We thought by giving you more value from the beginning that it would show you how aggressive we are trying to be and I apologize that that was never conveyed. The used car market is the hottest it has ever been. With dealers not having new cars on their lot, we are forced to step up on used cars. Buying a new tahoe would cost you up to $10000 over the MSRP and you would only receive the $2000 for your trade. Our car was priced in line with market conditions and you still got the aggressive trade value, which we do because it helps us get a better deal from the bank with all the equity, which in this case we needed every bit to get a better rate. All of the information was broken down on the contract and explained thoroughly to you and your husband, so there was nothing funny that happened there and I would be happy to sit down and explain it further if you would like. As far as the back window that is something we will definitely get down to the bottom of and handle for you. Dawn, Definitely not the case for responding, you are free to feel about the situation whatever way you want to, but just trying to show you the point of view we are coming from. We have been dealer of the year for three years running because of how we do business. There are so many factors when buying a car and no two used cars are alike. There also is no set value, and if you speak to 5 different appraisers, they all will give you a different amount. Regardless of that, we do realize that we are not able to make everyone happy but do our best to explain and instruct the best we can. You are correct, at this point we are hoping you drive your vehicle and are as happy as possibly can be with it. Thanks Andrew. I was offered $3,500 at 2 other dealers for my vehicle, even though check engine light was on(oil sensor needed) and was worth that even with the accident(deer), no airbags or major damage incurred, which was showing and not sure about the body issues you refer to, but no matter at this point. The car, as I have been told, was very clean and unbelievable for the year and mileage. In any case, the trade for clunker was an amount given off a vehicle at new cost, MSRP, not the used cost…at this point it is what it is. Why even bother when it would be so much easier to just state that no haggle cost is xx amount rather than try to make it seem like a used vehicle is worth a new vehicle cost? This way there would be no issues… The original tag on the car when we came to the lot was $51,000, which would change things a bit, however as I was told, and for whatever reason, the cost put into the car for misc. work, was not added into the sticker price(as shown when I first saw the vehicle), but after the paper work was done. As far as I’m concerned, based on my trade plus $8,500 down, should bring my loan amount down by approx. $2,000, but instead I’m financing approx $38,000 after putting 8,500 down and $2,000 trade which is pretty much telling me I Paid $55,000(no exact numbers but hopefully you get the gist of what I’m saying) for a used Tahoe LS, basic, no upgrades at all. So, no, I do not feel it was priced in line. Paying tax and tags was supposed to help with this however I see sales tax and then I see registration and title fees as well prior to our final amount so it does not add up to me. No need to beat this to death, and definitely no reason for either us to repeat anything, because it’s done at this point. Nothing to do about it now, obviously, but enjoy my new/used vehicle, Thank you for your response and I understand you want to make sure anyone reading this will believe I am an unhappy customer, however that is not the case and people just need to be aware is all. :)

Ed, We apologize that you feel that way. However, there needs to be some context to your comments. You came in wanting to purchase the corvette. You were told repeatedly that it was still not finished in the shop. You were also informed that the vehicle would be available to anyone else until it was signed for which is when you decided to go ahead and buy it, so no one else could. No pressure and you are a grown adult that was not forced to do anything. No one made you sign, you chose to. That night if there was a light on we would have been happy to address, but you never said anything till after you got home. When we drove it there was no light on and they can pop on at anytime. The tires had excellent tread and were in perfect condition which is exactly what YOUR mechanic said as well. And as for the mirror, you even stated that it worked but you just didn’t like the way it looked, not that it was defective. Also, if the window was not working we would have been happy to look at it. We aren’t perfect, but stand behind our product and want to make it be 100%. However, it is clear based of your wildly inaccurate statements and accusations about character, and repeatedly raising your voice and cursing on the phone that you are only interested in trying to bully people. We were and still are willing to try and help rectify this issue, but we refuse to be treated in such a disrespectful manor when we were literally trying to fix these items for you. And this is after we threw in $3000 to meet a bank approval, due to credit concerns with the bank. We are sorry it has come to this, but like I told you on the phone before being belittled, disrespected, and cursed at, that we are willing to help, but only when you can be professional. Good luck.
