I previously purchased a vehicle from this dealership and decided to return. I contacted the salesperson that originally helped me, who is now a Manager. He was unable to help, but referred me to Matt. Matt decided to return. I contacted the salesperson that originally helped me, who is now a Manager. He was unable to help, but referred me to Matt. Matt was very helpful, informative and not pushy at all. I’ll definitely buy another vehicle from here again. More

Matthew Tillapaugh did an excellent job of showing us Mazda's and gave us a great price. Matthew also did a wonderful job explaining our smart car and how to use all the safety features. I did not sense any pressure and I believe the trade in value I was offered (which I had researched) was fair. I would recommend Matt and this dealership. value I was offered (which I had researched) was fair. I would recommend Matt and this dealership. More

Years ago when I was looking for a car I worked with Matt and he was such a pleasure to work with that even though I didn't end up buying a car from O'Daniel's at that point I wanted to be sure I bought my c and he was such a pleasure to work with that even though I didn't end up buying a car from O'Daniel's at that point I wanted to be sure I bought my car from him this time. He's professional and I never felt like I was rushed into making a purchase that wasn't right for me. He spent time to make sure I was comfortable with the vehicle and showed me all the different features to the Mazda CX-9 of which there are many. Matt is a great guy to work with on finding a vehicle that fits my family and I'll definitely recommend my family and friends to go see him if they're in the market for a vehicle. He's kind, courteous, and patient, and definitely an asset to the O'Daniel's dealership. I'm thankful I was able to buy my car from him this time. More

I can not say enough about Matthew Tillapaugh. He was a pleasure to work with. He shows a genuine care in providing great customer service. I had an issue with my application being denied by Mazda and he pleasure to work with. He shows a genuine care in providing great customer service. I had an issue with my application being denied by Mazda and he was the first to help solve the application issue and would follow -up with his staff and me to make sure they were doing everything they could to fix it. The application was fixed and he had got me the car I wanted for a great price. I unfortunately could not continue the deal because I just had a family death with unforeseen costs. I wanted to leave a review as customer service like this doesn’t exist in NYC. More

I had nothing but a great experience working with Matt on the purchase of my certified pre-owned 2017 Mazda3. Process was fairly easy and quick! I have nothing but great things to say about Matt. The only the purchase of my certified pre-owned 2017 Mazda3. Process was fairly easy and quick! I have nothing but great things to say about Matt. The only issue I had was working with the finance. I had put in an application for financing to see what they could offer me as I did with other lenders, apparently he took that as I am financing with them. When I informed him that I had already received financing from my local credit union (at a better rate), he was not happy at all. A lot of "Oh I wish someone would have told me" and "I guess I don't need these anymore" as he tore the papers up. He even sighed loudly when he was walking away. Not a great experience with him at all. Other than that issue, like I said above, Matt was great. The dealership was great and I would definitely recommend purchasing your next vehicle with them. Ask for Matt and he'll take care of you. More

I had a great experience working with Matt on the new 2021 mazda 3 premium plus. I came in with my mind set between either the mazda 6 or mazda 3. Matt took the extra time to go over the ins and outs of 2021 mazda 3 premium plus. I came in with my mind set between either the mazda 6 or mazda 3. Matt took the extra time to go over the ins and outs of each vehicle, and with the new 7th gen tech that was introduced in the 2021 Mazda 3. It really helped my understanding of all the new things Mazda is adding into their vehicles. I will definitely ask for Matt when stopping in to O'Daniel in the future. More

I bought my car from Matt Tillapaugh at O'Daniel Mazda, who was fantastic throughout the process. It was a pressure-less environment in which my wife and I were not rushed or even influenced. We test-dro who was fantastic throughout the process. It was a pressure-less environment in which my wife and I were not rushed or even influenced. We test-drove three different cars. The test drive route recommended included I-69, major city thoroughfare (Jefferson) and some smaller streets, so it was longer, good for us and not for the dealership, and it was diverse, which I think gave us a better feel for the cars. He really knew the cars, showed us the kind we wanted, meaning he listened first, didn't try to move us up in price. He was super. While Matt was super, and I was more than ready to buy the car, the finance guy was an old-school, high-pressure, fast talker who just about cost Matt the sale. His job wasn't to finance; his job was to add "warranties" to the car. A warranty on tires that cost about $10 a month over 60 months? $600 for a tire warranty? How many sets of tires, beyond the ones that come on it, am I going to need in the first five years? I did buy the longer warranty on the mechanical part of the car, because it made intellectual sense, but the emotional experience was that I got worked over and likely got ripped off. It was like going back in time 50 years. I wanted the car, and I liked Matt and his trainee (first time I'd seen a trainee at a dealership, and I thought that was great, especially when I found out she'd worked there for months before being allowed to take this role), but I came close to walking out. The more I think about it, the more I'd bet that that warranty isn't technically a warranty at all, but something Mazda sells off to underwriters, making it insurance. It felt like being sold a ten-year term life insurance policy. Those are high-margin products for the seller, so the dealer banks hard on making that sale. It also explains why they offer 0% financing. Hide the margin; an old game that puts egg on everyone's face when it is finally exposed. The more I think about it, the more uneasy I become. If I'm not alone, that bodes poorly for return business. So my recommendation: I got what I believe will be a great car, and a great dealer through the "sales" process, which you might rename the "selection" process navigated by a great salesperson, but they need to figure out a different way to work the "purchase" part of the process. Put on your armor and pokerface at the end. Force the finance guy to sloooooooow down. Bring a calculator and do your own math. Think about going to the bank beforehand and coming in with your own financing set up. You might be better off. And by the way, this program is about to ask you for your e-mail and to "set up an account." That's an unnecessary intrusion into my privacy. More
