Overview: Mostly very good to excellent, but some parts were not. 1. Salesperson: We worked with Michele Doyle; she was friendly, conscientious and made every effort to help make us comfortable with our p were not. 1. She kept us informed over our two-week search session and texted information when we needed more details. She was always professional, courteous and helpful. If we were to give her a grade, it would be A. 2. Shop/service department: The car was initially rejected for Honda certification due to a fuel filling glitch. This was resolved by sending the car back to Danvers for repairs. Within a few days the car re-appeared on CarGurus; when we texted Danvers about availability, they suggested that we get back with Michele. We did. When we arrived on the 31st the car was freshly washed and was very clean inside. One minor point: there were three spots on the edges of doors and rear hatch that had chips/dings in the paint. It would have been helpful to fix these dings before resale, but they chose not to do so. Overall grade: B 3. Bookkeeping/management. We were told by Heather Neptune to unlock our credit ratings with Experian and Trans Union to get the paperwork started. This took a while, since we had to rely on our cell phones. After getting cleared, we went to Heather’s office to sign papers: this event was a blur, with forms, initials and signatures flying back and forth. We decided to get an extended warranty, since we planned to keep the car for more than three years; it is our assumption that this warranty will be honored by a Honda dealer nearer to our home in Maine than Dover. We next covered scratch and dent coverage and accepted it. After that, we were given the keys and a packet of paperwork as we left the dealership. When we got back home in Maine, we were tired and went to bed. The next day we opened the packet and, for the first time, saw the vehicle buyer’s order/bill of sale! Question: shouldn’t someone have shown us this document before we agreed to purchase the vehicle? Second, the price of the vehicle on the web site of Danvers and Dover was $31,887. Why was the price listed on the buyers order as $32,387 ? No one discussed this change with us. There was a charge of $995 for paint and fabric: no one explained what this charge was about. Overall grade on bookkeeping: C. Overall grade on Management: C-. Final comments: We were not on our game in terms of asking questions and getting clarification. Michele was a total professional throughout and was a bright spot in the purchasing experience. Finally, the car: it is an amazing vehicle and we are happy to have it. We hope to enjoy it for many years to come. More
