One good experience, one not so good. In February we purchased a car for my wife and the experience with the salesman, Carlton Duncan was so good that we decided to buy a car from him agai In February we purchased a car for my wife and the experience with the salesman, Carlton Duncan was so good that we decided to buy a car from him again. I called him 2 days in advance and we agreed that I would come between 10 and 11 am on Thursday. When we arrived, he was friendly but we could tell he didn’t remember us. That’s okay, he meets a lot of people, but when doing the initial paperwork, he wrote down a totally wrong name, proving he didn’t know us. I was looking for a pre-owned car and he showed me a couple that I liked. We test drove them both, I decided which I wanted and after minimal negotiation, we agreed on a price. Here is where the trouble began. He put us in a cubby and asked us to wait. What we didn’t know is that he was juggling three other customers at the same time. After time passed, I wandered out looking for him and was told by the pre owned car manager that he was with somebody else. I told her that I thought he was with my wife and I. More time passed until I started to complain. Carlton came back and told me that I was his lucky charm, because he sold 4 cars that morning. I complained and the general manager, Mr. Mariagrossi apologized and told me that they only had 1 finance manager on Thursdays He said he would get someone to do my paperwork but as it turns out, that was not true because there was nobody else there to do it. The decided to send me with the tech guy to go over the features of the car. While he was doing that, he received a text telling him to go slowly and stall me because finance was not ready. I , of course, was not supposed to see this. Anyway, the car was supposedly prepped and a decorative front license plate was to be installed. Of course, when I was done with all of the paperwork, it hadn’t been done. By that time Carlton said it would only take 5 minutes to install, which it did, but to add insult to injury , they put it on upside down and Carlton himself had to fix it. I feel somehow that I got pushed to the bottom of the pile because I bought a used car which probably cost less than the others. I truly believe that when I call in advance to make an appointment, I should get the salesman’s undivided attention. Perhaps Carlton got greedy. I’m happy that he is earning a good living but obviously you cannot sell 4cars st once without sacrificing quality. Unfortunately, I fell victim to this. Finally, to add insult to injury, when I got home I received a mass email from the dealership offering $500 off any new or used vehicles. I was not offered this and I believe that owe it to me. More
