There has been times I bought a car and sat at the dealership all day. I got off work and was out in about 3 hours. Everyone was very helpful and I got the car I want. The staff was friendly enough but the experience overall wasn't great. I hate car buying and now I remember why. Before the sale was final, I made mention of a minor issue I noticed with the vehicle's dome wasn't great. I hate car buying and now I remember why. Before the sale was final, I made mention of a minor issue I noticed with the vehicle's dome light not fully operating. I was initially told it would be covered under my 30-day warranty by my salesman. However, the sales manager came back and said that it would not be covered. He stated this is what you get with a used car. I actually started to get up and walk away from the deal at that moment but opted not to. I didn't feel very valued as a customer after that and all at once remembered why I hate the entire car buying experience. I would never come back to this dealership or recommend them to anyone else looking for a car. Being in the customer service industry, I feel that it's the little things that make the experience go far and this was not done in my case. On top of the dome light, no one ever shared the basic vehicle operating information. I walked away not knowing how to open the gas tank or the trunk. They could have easily offered to fix the light but instead pretty much told me to take it or leave it. As I mentioned, most of the staff was friendly enough which is what you expect when someone is trying to make a deal but that moment of basically being told that you aren't an important customer because you are buying a used car put a bad taste in my mouth. I feel that if I purchased new they would have fixed the issue reported. Yessica was fast and friendly and offered a variety of options for my purchase. My sales guy did take a look at the issue I mentioned which I appreciate. He didn't do much outside of that. They took the car to be cleaned, but I later found food and dirt in between the seats. I guess this too is what you get when purchasing a used car. Overall the experience was meh. Wouldn't go back unless I was forced to. Their follow-up in the service department sucks too. I guess that's what you get when buying anything other than a new Hyundai here. I drove an hour to this place because they had the vehicle I wanted and the reviews I read were quite positive. I am glad those customers had a great experience but I, unfortunately, did not. What would have made the experience better would have been a better explanation about the vehicle. Google is a great tool but they aren't being paid for my purchase. The cleanliness issue of the car is important, especially as we get through a pandemic. Seeing old food and dust that holds germs did not make my drive home comfortable. It would have also been great to receive some consideration about the dome light instead of making me feel like the used car purchase I was making was a mistake. More
