I bought a used car through Vinny. I told Vinny who claims to be a friend of mine that I needed a dependable car because I work as a caregiver and need a good car to transport clients. I told Vinny who claims to be a friend of mine that I needed a dependable car because I work as a caregiver and need a good car to transport clients. I had some reservations about buying a Durango. Due to having 57,000 miles on it and that it would have upcoming maintenance once it hit 60,000 miles. I was told it didn’t need any maintenance. They wasn’t going to do any repairs that wasn’t needed. And that the Durango is a good dependable car. Vinny even walked me past a white Durango and said I like them so much that that’s my personal vehicle he said he bought it. I now know that was a lie. I ended up buying it cause I trusted Vinny as he claimed to be a friend. I had the car 2 months and put almost 9,000 miles on it I went in for an oil change when I hit 62,000 miles I get the inspection report through email that my brakes are a 5. I was like ok I’m going to need brakes soon. I never planned on having brakes done at Elmwood. I made that mistake with my tundra. A few weeks ago I start hearing a tapping sound I make an appointment for service. They tell me I need a cam shaft and right rocker. My extended warranty covered it .Thursday I get another inspection report with a ton of recommended maintenance including brake pads at are at 2 now almost $2500 was the estimated cost. This made me extremely mad so I get in contact with Vinny. Told him he lied about the condition of the car because I shouldn’t have to be using my warranty so soon. He also lied about the upcoming maintenance had I known I would have never bought it knowing it was going to cost that much. If I don’t do recommend maintenance it voids my warranty. According to the warranty company this infuriated me. Vinny was no help he had the service manager call me. Big mistake on Vinny’s part my beef wasn’t with service it with sales. Unfortunately I lost my cool with Tia. I’ve been asked not to return I’m no longer welcome in Elmwood dodge for my language and how I spoke . So now I have a car that needs a ton of maintenance and a warranty I have to cancel because the work can only be performed at the dealership you bought the warranty from. Be careful when buying a car from here. More

our repair experience . . the rear wheels locked up 40 minutes after this repair and we were told nothing else was damaged from this bad replacement part or the bad install . . the rear wheels locked up 40 minutes after this repair and we were told nothing else was damaged from this bad replacement part or the bad install .. we spent almost 4k so this wouldnt happen because we knew what would be damaged on a 2018 Dodge Journey if it did.. saying it was looked over and no damage was 'seen' means literally nothing, “components that can be damaged or stressed and most certainly will be on a vehicle this age by a sudden rear-driveline lockup and therefore require a meaningful inspection/testing.” .. up to and including the front end that nearly touched the ground when it skidded and slammed to a stop at 45 mph.... other parts of the vehicle had wear of course but this event pushed all issues to or past the pecipise, not immedialy owning up to it was .. disgraceful .. refusing to show me any replaced parts claiming they were 'cores' and you folks got money for them ? why ? they were mine? or any damage apart from the photo i took is not a practice im aware of when i pay for something i get to see what i paid for .. especially at 4k .... the vehicle was purchased there and theyve done all the work to it .. i was told none of these were damaged because they were 'Looked over' .. Rear Differential / Rear Drive Assembly (RDA) Electronically Controlled Clutch (ECC) Rear Differential Bearings Rear Differential Mounts Rear Suspension Crossmember Left Rear Half-Shaft / CV Axle Right Rear Half-Shaft / CV Axle Rear CV Joints Left Rear Wheel Hub / Bearing Right Rear Wheel Hub / Bearing Rear Wheels Rear Tires Propeller Shaft / Driveshaft Propeller Shaft CV Joint Propeller Shaft Rubber Coupler Propeller Shaft Center-Support Bearings Power Transfer Unit (PTU) Transmission / Transaxle Transmission / Powertrain Mounts Front Half-Shafts / CV Axles Front CV Joints Front Wheel Hubs / Bearings Front Lower Control Arms etc etc .... edit ..the second image is from 7/27 it is the second repair leaking from the exact same spot as the first 2 issues .. 4 k later and theyve repaired nothing in fact theyve caused so much more damage.. Edit: 8/25 the owner of elmwood talked to meand said oh yeah we'll fix everything we damaged ... that was a totasl lie as they are fixing no part of the $1000's of dollars worth of drive train damage they caused and its looking like without a lawyer these people will have been paid over $5000 to total our vehicle---**Update 8/27** First, at pickup, my girlfriend was told that “employees were fired because of this review” and was asked about having the review removed. Laying that guilt on her was despicable. She is still crying. She went there to pick up our vehicle, not to be made responsible for personnel decisions made by your dealership. Also, if anything in my review is inaccurate — if I have a date wrong, misunderstood something, or made an error in a timeline that now stretches over more than a month — please feel free to correct me, specifically and in writing. The facts remain the same: approximately 40 minutes after the vehicle was returned to us, it experienced an extreme driveline failure at approximately 45 MPH. As I understand your position, components outside the rear differential were determined to be undamaged because the vehicle was “looked over.” Thank you, but given the severity of that failure and the problems that followed, a qualified independent mechanic will still need to determine what damage actually occurred and whether it is mechanically consistent with that event. Perhaps some of this could have been avoided if I had been shown even one of the damaged parts that were removed and replaced, as I repeatedly requested. Instead, I was told the parts were “cores” and would be returned rather than shown to the customer who paid for the repair. If I have stated any fact incorrectly, please identify the specific statement and provide the correct information. I will correct any genuine factual error. More

I would not recommend purchasing a used vehicle from this dealership. Based on my experience, their Certified Pre-Owned designation did not provide the level of quality or peace of mind I expected. I purc dealership. Based on my experience, their Certified Pre-Owned designation did not provide the level of quality or peace of mind I expected. I purchased a certified pre-owned 2017 Ram truck that had an issue during the test drive. Before completing the purchase, I was assured that a repair order would be completed before the vehicle was delivered. Relying on those assurances and the Certified Pre-Owned certification, I proceeded with the purchase. Unfortunately, within 24 hours of taking the truck home, the check engine light came on. I contacted the dealership immediately and was told it was likely a minor issue and to bring the truck in for service the following Tuesday. I did so, but within 24 hours of getting the truck back, the check engine light came on again—this time for a different problem. I returned the truck for service a second time and requested copies of the repair order and service documentation for my records. Not only did I leave without any paperwork, but I was also charged a $100 deductible for a repair that I believe should have been addressed before the sale, based on the dealership's representations. I emailed several members of management requesting a phone call to discuss these concerns but never received a response. When I called again to follow up on the missing service records, I was told that Cliff, the Service Manager, was still working on the paperwork because of a warranty issue and that I would receive a call back. As of this review, I have not received that call. At this point, I have lost confidence in both the quality of the vehicle and the dealership's customer service. The repeated mechanical issues, lack of documentation, unexpected repair charge, and failure of management to respond have been extremely disappointing. I hope the dealership will take this opportunity to address these concerns, but based on my experience, I cannot recommend buying a used vehicle here. If you're looking for a dealership that stands behind its Certified Pre-Owned vehicles and provides responsive customer service after the sale, I would suggest looking elsewhere. More
