I brought the car in with a clearly diagnosed problem: the switch for the front driver side window was broken. They said there would be a diagnostic fee of a couple hundred dollars. I acquiesced to it, bu the switch for the front driver side window was broken. They said there would be a diagnostic fee of a couple hundred dollars. I acquiesced to it, but I told them there is nothing to diagnose, and I pointed them directly to the problem; it was clearly visible. I told him that the window itself was still working, even after the switch was broken. Despite that, they took apart the door -- possibly to justify the diagnostic fee -- and now the window doesn't work either. The quoted price to repair both the switch and window mechanism inside the door was $1,400 including the diagnostic fee. Again, the window mechanism was working perfectly, even after the switch broke. My car is far worse off compared to when I brought it in. I would never go back to that Honda dealer and I may just trade in the car and get a Nissan or a Toyota. It was a really bad experience, and I won't go back to this Honda dealer. When I go in there, I expect to get robbed to some extent. Had they charged me, say, $800 to fix the switch, I would have accepted that. But $1,400 to fix a problem that didn't exist when I brought the car in-- well, that is not acceptable. I have my limits. More
