beware of bait and switch with the car financing. Beware of the bait and switch with the car financing. I was preapproved with a lender who specifically knew all my credit issues, credit score, etc Beware of the bait and switch with the car financing. I was preapproved with a lender who specifically knew all my credit issues, credit score, etc and amount of down pymt AND the vehicle I was buying with mileage, etc... then when it came to time for buying it the sales guy went for financing and the interest rate came in at 20% and could only get it lowered to 16.9% with $2000 down and this was through the same lender I had been preapproved at 11.9%. He said when you consider all the additional info the lender has to look at the risk was higher... of course he failed to realize I knew that he got kickbacks from the lender if he sold me on the higher interest rate. I've been in the financing business for 30 yrs and know how it works. So just beware!. I went to a different dealer and bought a simlar car and was able to get the rate I wanted. Just beware of this dealership with their "bait and switch" for the financing. And... read the fine print... they add on additional "dealer" fees that a lot of dealers don't add on. Be careful with these guys! More
