My husband and I purchased a vehicle from Jim Hudson Lexus through Mark last year, and the entire experience was nothing short of exhausting and deeply disappointing. From the moment we walked in, every Lexus through Mark last year, and the entire experience was nothing short of exhausting and deeply disappointing. From the moment we walked in, everything felt brutally rushed and forced. After waiting months for our vehicle to arrive, it finally showed up at the end of the month — and instead of focusing on resolving our concerns as customers, Chris, the manager, along with Mark, pushed hard for us to come in immediately just so they could meet their end-of-month quota. It was painfully clear that their priority wasn’t us — it was their numbers. Rather than feeling supported, we felt pressured and dismissed, as if their quota responsibilities were being thrown onto our shoulders. That is absolutely not how a reputable dealership should operate. Safe to say, we would never recommend this dealership to anyone. Their actions made it clear that their bonuses matter far more to them than the people who actually buy their vehicles. We’ve refused to service our car there for this exact reason — we’d rather drive an hour away than give them another dollar of our business. More

After nearly two years of waiting, I finally decided to request my deposit back — and that’s when things somehow got even worse. I had to chase this dealership endlessly just to get my own money returned. The dealer I originally worked with was nowhere to be found. The manager was nowhere to be found. I was calling every single day while juggling my full-time job, just trying to get someone — anyone — to take responsibility. When I finally got someone on the phone, instead of help, I got pushback. I was told the deposit was “non-refundable” because it secured a vehicle. Except I never left a deposit for a specific car — it was simply to be on a waitlist. They knew that. And yet they still made this as difficult and frustrating as possible. This dealership was an absolute headache to deal with. We were then informed that the car was not currently on the showroom floor and was an incoming unit—something we were fully prepared to wait for. Everything changed when we discovered the dealership had added a “Market Adjustment” premium to the price. Concerned, we contacted other Lexus dealerships, including our local Greenville Lexus, who made it very clear that they do not—and will not—charge their customers above MSRP. At that point, we decided to move forward with a dealership that values honesty, fairness, and transparency, and we requested a refund of our deposit. To our shock, the manager Chris informed us that our deposit was “non-refundable,” even though the vehicle wouldn’t be arriving for several months. We were completely blindsided by this response. What makes this situation even more infuriating is the fact that they ended up selling the vehicle to another customer anyway. They didn’t lose any money. Their bottom line wasn’t affected in the slightest. The only people financially impacted were my family and me—because we trusted this dealership to operate with integrity. We believed in fair pricing and a fair shot. Instead, we were punished for refusing to pay an unnecessary premium on a car that wasn’t even on the lot yet. Once we found a fair price elsewhere, somehow we were the ones penalized. We have already reached out to Lexus Corporate and a Lexus Brand Specialist to request a full investigation into these practices. We entered this process with pure intentions, and the way this was handled is absolutely not how a reputable dealership should treat its customers. More
