Unexpected Purchase My wife an I found ourselves in the position of having to buy a new vehicle this week. Her 2009 Escape came in for repair and the problem was terminal My wife an I found ourselves in the position of having to buy a new vehicle this week. Her 2009 Escape came in for repair and the problem was terminal. I reviewed the condition of the vehicle with Kim Wolfram, our service advisor along with Aaron, one of the technicians. Two other technicians came out to discuss the problems with me. Simply stated, the old vehicle was not worth fixing. After nearly 200,000 miles, we could not complain. I walked over to the showroom and asked for Mike Cooney, our regular salesperson. Mike was not there. Brandon Johnson asked if he could help. I explained my current situation. Brandon took the time to help me figure out pricing and equipment on a new Escape for my wife. I had advised Brandon that I appreciated the help he was giving me but I would only buy from Mike. Brandon said "no problem". Brandon said he just wanted to help. My very unhappy wife arrived at the showroom at 6:00pm, closing time. Brandon and Rich Klaben stayed late to talk to my wife and show her the features on the new Escape. Aaron, the technician came over and helped to explain the issues with the old car. Everyone did their best to help my wife adjust to the fact that the love-affair she had with her old vehicle was over. They all stayed until a new vehicle had been selected. Over the next two days Brandon spoke to my wife several times gathering information to make the process go smoothly. He did whatever was needed to make the new purchase easier. During this time Mike called both my wife and I to make sure all was going well. We picked up the new Escape today and finalized the paperwork with Christine Klaben. Christine was a joy to work with. She took the time to explain everything and help us digest the unexpected purchase of a new vehicle. Throughout the process everyone at Klaben was great. They understood my position of having to buy a new vehicle unexpectedly. They understood that my wife had to let go of a vehicle she loved. I cannot say enough about how well we were treated. There was no pressure and they did their best to get us a vehicle at a good price. I can go anywhere and buy a vehicle. I will continue to go to Klaben because of the people and there attitude. Certified Goodness I had often commented to our service adviser, Mike Brandvold, that I wanted to drive our Mercury Milan until the wheels fell off. Well, one of them al I had often commented to our service adviser, Mike Brandvold, that I wanted to drive our Mercury Milan until the wheels fell off. Well, one of them almost did. It was a great eight year old car with 160,000 miles on it. It sill looked an drove like new. I stopped in the dealership just to take a look at what was available. I never expected to drive away with a different vehicle. Chris and Don showed us some great cars. We liked one of the Certified Lincoln MKZ cars on the lot. The whole sales team went out of their way to work a deal that everyone was happy with. Now, I walk out of the house into the garage and see the MKZ parked where the Milan once was and I'm not disappointed. This is an amazing car that we are blessed to have.
