Unfortunately, Mercedes-Benz has a very strict policy regarding vehicles being exported. I wish it were not the case, but if we exceed a threshold of new vehicles that are exported, we are fined a significant amount of money. We believe, for several reasons, that the individual that referred you to the dealership is associated with purchasing new vehicles for the purpose of export. Therefore, we felt that there is enough risk involved to not sell you a vehicle. It is my understanding that you live and work near other Mercedes-Benz dealerships, so if there is a vehicle in my inventory that you wish to purchase, I will gladly dealer trade it to the dealership of your choice so you can purchase it there. We should have been more transparent in our communication and advised the customer not to travel to Hagerstown in holiday traffic while waiting for the other customer's pending loan approval.
