We had an wonderful experience with Paul Conte Cadillac. We purchased a 2021 XT6 from Danny Brendler. Our local Cadillac dealership didn't have the color combination we needed so we searched and found the vehicle at Paul Conte. We live in Rochester, Ny and travelled to Freeport (about 6.5 hours) Danny made the buying experience very easy. He's a great, friendly guy and even went the extra mile and called the the next day to see if we got home safely. The managers Tim and Frank certainly helped make the deal seamless. Couldn't be happier with our vehicle and the team at Paul Conte Cadillac. We also had a question on the vehicle the next day and spoke to John Cusumano. I researched many dealerships before landing at Paul Conte Cadillac. PROS: - Very professional dealership atmosphere and décor. - The Cadillac brand is amazing. I love my new vehicle. CONS: Em Conte Cadillac. PROS: - Very professional dealership atmosphere and décor. - The Cadillac brand is amazing. I love my new vehicle. CONS: Employee, Gregory Netz I have purchased several vehicles over the years, but never had the experience of building a brand new vehicle for order online, with specific features added – then having the dealership create the actual order. I had a 2021 Cadillac Escalade built with costume features added. HARDSHIPS EXPERIENCED DUE TO GREGORY NETZ; - I ordered my vehicle the month of January 2021. I was EXTREMELY specific, without being demanding; with my questioning to Gregory that I wanted avoid hardships and problematic situations. I also stated I DID NOT want to deal with any other workers throughout the process. Gregory assured me that only he would handle my sale from start to finish. THAT DID NOT HAPPEN! - I picked up my vehicle June 25th 2021 – SIX MONTHS LATER!!! …Why this is problematic; A) I questioned Gregory of max time for vehicle arrival… a month? Two months? He told me the max would be three months due to the chrome rims that I ordered. I NEVER GOT THESE RIMS!!! In fact, the original purchase order was modified WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE!!! Although I was not charged for these rims, the customer should ALWAYS BE INFORMED of any changes with a pending sale. His statement to me regarding this change; “I didn’t think it was big deal” (I have this recorded). EXTREMELY POOR professionalism! B) The week of the three month mark, I emailed Gregory re vehicle delivery b/c my current vehicle was pending sale of multiple interested buyers (HE should have emailed me a status report if the vehicle could not be delivered on time. COVID19 IS NOT an excuse b/c COVID19 was in-play when I ordered the vehicle in January. Hence, he SHOULD NOT have told me “Max three months”). This is the point hardship began to set in. After my email, he told me the vehicle should be delivered within the next four weeks. That would be the second week in May. NO VEHICLE, NO EMAIL/CALL update status. I had to email him AGAIN! C) When the vehicle arrives, IN JUNE, I go to the dealership to inspect the vehicle. I had to return b/c the Cadillac badge (front and rear) with NOT the monochrome that I ordered, and the puddle lamps/running boards were not installed/functional – AND, this is where I noticed the incorrect rims were on the vehicle. When I said to Gregory, this must not be my vehicle b/c the badges are incorrect, and the rims are incorrect. He stated to me; “Those ARE the rims you ordered!!! HORRIBLE PROFESSIONALISM!! I told him I will show you on the original purchase order. Once in the office, he realized he WAS WRONG!!! I also encouraged him when dealing with future customers, it’s best to keep them informed when a scenario such as mine is evident. His response to me; “I ALWAYS do that”! Apparently, this statement is irresponsible, arrogant, and ANOTHER example of his lack of professionalism. D) Before I departed this evening visit, Gregory stated let’s do the paperwork. I told him it would be a finance or cash buy, and I wanted to complete the paperwork and drive away the same day. He told me I would need to do a cashier’s check OR I could WIRE money if I select a cash buy… NOTHING ELSE!!! When I returned, I told him, it would be a cash buy. What’s the process to wire the money? His response; “Oh, it takes a few days to wire the money”… WHAT!!??? He said he told me this on the last visit – WRONG! ANOTHER example of his lack of professionalism! I had to leave the dealership, wait on line at the bank to get a cashier’s check then return, just to be sent to ANOTHER employee attempting to sell me everything under the sun – of which I said no to all. - Currently I have emailed Gregory July 22nd regarding a backordered part to be installed. He told me this part should arrive in three-four weeks. Four weeks has elapsed since I picked up my vehicle AND he has yet to respond to me (call or email). This custom vehicle purchase at Paul Conte Cadillac was beyond a distressful experience, along with an extra burden to sell my current vehicle not knowing when my 2021 Escalade would be delivered. I can’t speak on any other employees at this dealership that I enjoyed walking into each time I visited, however, Gregory, and whoever manages him, is a disservice to this dealership vs the professional décor that I witnessed. After my backordered part is installed, I will not return to this dealership for any matters regarding my vehicle. More
