"Certified Used" process is a joke at this dealer! Purchased a "Certified Used" Scion XD here about 3 months ago. I don't think there was anything done as part of the certification process! About 2 weeks after getting the car home, the brakes started making grinding noises. I took it to my personal brake/tire guys to have them checked out, because I know that Toyota service centers are not known to be honest about things. My mechanic said the pads were worn down to about 2mm and need to be replaced, rotors serviced, etc. This is frustrating, since this supposedly "Certified" car should have had that fixed during the process, right? I started looking more closely at the engine components (I'm not anywhere near a mechanic, mind you - that's why I buy certified cars in the first place), and I noticed that the transmission fluid was REALLY dirty, and the coolant level was very low. Ventura Toyota ended up fixing the brakes, but I'm pretty sure that's ONLY because I verified that they were bad with an honest mechanic first. They didn't do anything about the fluids - told me they were fine. I ended up going somewhere else to have the fluids replaced and checked properly at my expense. So that's the easy part of the story - a few minor, very inexpensive things that Ventura Toyota could have taken care of for me easily, since it would have cost them basically nothing to keep a 20+ year loyal customer happy. Unfortunately, there's more to the story - and this is what I find appalling - I sent a contact form message to the corporate Toyota Customer Care folks to let them know that I was having these issues with my car purchased at Ventura Toyota, and asked them to extend the Certified 12mth warranty to 24mths so I can have some peace of mind, considering that it appears that so much was missed during the certification process that I was left doubting that they actually did anything at all. Now, mind you, I didn't really expect them to extend the warranty, I was just reaching out and figured I'd ask. What I did expect, however, was some sort of a phone call and apology from them. The Customer Care folks told me that I would get a call from the Ventura Toyota Customer Relations Manager, Scott Bada, to address my concerns. Did I ever get a call? Of course not! It's not like "relating to customers" would be a reasonable line item in the Customer Relations Manager's job description, right?? Instead, I got a stuffy form letter response back from Toyota Customer Care that spelled out the details of the Certification process and warranty - as if I didn't read that stuff for myself in the first place! Had I received a phone call and a genuine apology, I would have figured, "oh well, stuff gets missed sometimes - I guess I'll give them the benefit of the doubt." Since they decided not to respond in any meaningful way, they've now lost a customer, earned bad reviews any place I can think to post one, and one heck of a good "negative word of mouth" person to speak negatively about Ventura Toyota out here in the 805! More

It was refreshing to have a Sales Employee who wasn't pushing information and options down our throat. The car we ended up liking the most, was a car we hadn't even considered before heading to the dealership. We had a hard time coming to a decision on the spot and we did eventually come to a decision toward the end of the night. Tired from a long days work, Sogol offered to order us all pizza while we did the paper work. We went on one last test drive and we were sold on the car. More

Great deal and excellent service. I'm a repeat customer. I took my 2013 Prius C in for maintenance which they accomplished in less than an hour. I then looked at new Prius C's and found one I liked.
