48 New York Hyundai Dealers

I am writing this review because my experience at - Karnati Phanindhar Reddy

I am writing this review because my experience at Matthews Hyundai of Schenectady on September 26, 2026 was extremely disappointing, particularly because of how I was treated by the management team. I visited the dealership to look at a 2018 Hyundai Tucson Value that was advertised for sale. I was genuinely interested in purchasing the vehicle and went through the normal process of inspecting it, test-driving it, discussing pricing, and discussing financing. During the test drive, I noticed a braking issue and immediately brought it to the salesperson's attention. I was told that the issue would be addressed before delivery. I then discussed the price and financing. Initially, the proposed deal included approximately $2,498 in additional aftermarket products, which I did not want. After further discussion, I was presented with a revised worksheet showing: - Vehicle sale price: $9,399 - Aftermarket products: $0 - Processing fee: $175 - State/local taxes: $751.92 - License/fees: $210.43 - Total shown: $10,536.35 I signed the worksheet that was presented to me. I understand that the document identifies itself as a “NON-BINDING PROPOSAL,” so I am not claiming that the document itself guaranteed a completed sale. I am mentioning it because these were the terms being discussed with me during the transaction. The dealership also ran my credit as part of the financing process, and financing options were discussed because of the age and mileage of the vehicle. I also asked questions regarding the Matthews 777 Guarantee and was told that, because of the vehicle's age and mileage, only two of the three benefits would apply. I wanted clarification regarding the exact eligibility requirements. The most disappointing part of my experience happened when I interacted with General Manager John Okyem. I remained respectful throughout my visit. I did not threaten, insult, or disrespect the salesperson, management, or any other employee. Despite this, the interaction with Mr. Okyem became confrontational. He shouted at me and told me: “Get lost.” He also told me: “Leave my dealership property.” I was shocked by this interaction. I was a customer who came to the dealership intending to purchase a vehicle and was attempting to resolve questions about the vehicle and transaction. I did not expect to be spoken to this way. The salesperson I dealt with was Amit. I am including his name because he was involved in my sales interaction, but my primary complaint regarding the way I was treated concerns the interaction with the General Manager. Ultimately, I left the dealership without purchasing the vehicle. What concerns me most My concern isn't simply that we disagreed about a price. Negotiations happen when buying a vehicle. My concern is the way the situation was handled and the manner in which I was spoken to after I had remained respectful throughout the interaction. I have already submitted a formal complaint to Matthews corporate management and Human Resources and requested that the incident be reviewed. I have documentation supporting the transaction, including the worksheets and other records from my visit. I am keeping the original documents and can provide them to the appropriate parties if necessary. Potential customers should carefully review every number, every additional product, the vehicle's condition, warranty/guarantee eligibility, and all paperwork before agreeing to a purchase. I am sharing my experience so other consumers can make their own informed decision about whether they are comfortable doing business with this dealership. My experience was extremely disappointing, and I would not personally return to this dealership after the way this situation was handled.

I brought my vehicle in, explained the quirks I was aware - Cknicks23

I brought my vehicle in, explained the quirks I was aware of, and after their inspection I was offered $11,000. I couldn't sell it that day because I was waiting for my replacement vehicle, and I was told the offer would be honored if I returned a few weeks later and that it would simply be a matter of completing the paperwork. When I returned about three weeks later, expecting to complete the sale, they wanted to put the vehicle through another inspection with two different people, including rechecking the same cosmetic and mechanical items from the first visit. None of those items had changed. The offer was then reduced to $9,000 and later increased to $9,900. After about 1½ hours, I decided to leave because this wasn't the process I had expected based on what I had originally been told. Before leaving, I was told that if I came back the next day, they would honor the $9,900 offer and it would simply be a matter of completing the paperwork. I returned roughly 12 hours later expecting to sign the paperwork, but the vehicle was put through a third inspection, again rechecking many of the same areas. The sale was ultimately finalized at $9,800. Between the three visits, I spent roughly four hours at the dealership. I also didn't receive my check that day. I was told it would take no more than three days, but four days later I still hadn't received it. I called, didn't receive a callback, and ultimately had to physically return to the dealership to follow up before receiving my check. The people I dealt with were professional throughout, and I want to be fair about that. My frustration is with the process. If you're considering selling your vehicle here, be prepared for the possibility of multiple inspections, changing offers, several hours at the dealership, and potentially having to follow up yourself for payment. IF you decide to sell you car here, My recommendation would be to get very clear upfront, in writing if possible, about how long the offer is valid, whether another inspection will be required when you return, and exactly when and how you will be paid. Hopefully that saves someone else from going through the hours and the process that I went through.

I have submitted many reviews being a long time Hyundai - lmonahan

I have submitted many reviews being a long time Hyundai buyer/ leaser. .I am doing it again to compliment and give many accolades to another fantastic salesman, business MGR. who is a such a great asset to the HEALEY work force...His name Is 'Chris Morales'.. What a sweet, sensitive, humorous, considerate, man he was helping a Sr. Citizen decide on what her options were for buying/ leasing a newer car...After much anxiety/ agonizing thoughts of what to decide, he explained everything to me with such respect & detail leading me to decide alone which was the best option for me.. I sincerely thank him for all he did for me & am asking the Mgt. team to somehow reward him in someway by acknowledging his great work ethics and business skills... This business transaction translated into a cohesive relationship between us and his expertise helped me to decide what to do.. Many Kudos to you CHRIS for you helping a LIL ole Sr. Citizen... :-).. All the other Team @ Healey's were great too.

Bought over the phone from California - Levine29

I was helping my parents buy a car (Hyundai Tucson) in NY from my location in California. Jack Schwartz, the GM, gave me the best price around and set up the paperwork so that my Dad could go in and pick up the car in no time at all. The entire transaction was smooth and couldn’t have been more convenient. I’d definitely recommend Jack for his service and for his competitive pricing.

My car was taken here to have a motor replaced which was - sunflowerluv1221

My car was taken here to have a motor replaced which was part of a recall. When I received it back it had electrical problems. I took it back to Millers on 2 different occasions the first time they told me I needed a new shift solenoid and it cost me roughly 800$ out of pocket. I then picked up my car and once again same problems. When I took it back a second time (3rd including motor replacement) they called me and told me I needed a new transmission. I practically pleaded with these people to look into maybe a lose ground or something electrical. After 4 days they called me and informed me they found a ground not making full connection and fixed the problem and car was ready for pickup. When I picked up my car I inquired about a refund for the solenoid I just paid them to replace and took to another garage to be tested and sure enough it wasn't bad after all. They refunded me roughly 550$. Since the ground wasn't fully connected for an extended period of time it intermittently went through the car damaging electrical components. I asked them what they would do about the damages it caused and they stated they believe they fulfilled their duties to me by giving a partial refund. I put thousands of dollars into this vehicle before taking it as a loss. IF they admitted a wrong by issuing a refund then clearly they should be held responsible for the damages their negligent motor install caused. Oh I must add their service manager thought the red blinking light on my dash was a tracking device.... (its my security system) I wouldn't recommend this garage to anyone not to purchase or even service a car.
