I just want to give a shout out to the superb service that I recently received from the Service Department. The courteous service began with the technician assistant who then released me to Eric. Eric prepared my paperwork and politely showed me where to wait while my car inspection was being done. To my delight the wait was not long at all and the added addition of Eric being such a gentleman made my trip to the dealership all the more enjoyable.

I’ve (somewhat unfortunately) had to visit BMW of Fairfax Collision Center several times over the past 18 months to have various body damage repaired. Every time the experience has been beyond phenomenal. While the quality and timeliness of the repairs is excellent, what really stands out is the customer service. Whether it’s been to push my insurance company to authorize having the car repaired the right way (rather than the cheapest way) or helping me deal with the results of my own inability to drive without bumping into stuff, the staff has always been professional, friendly, and very helpful. I normally wouldn’t look forward to visiting a body shop, but I always enjoy visiting the BMW of Fairfax Collision Center...BMW of Fairfax’s regular service center could definitely learn from them. Ian and Henry have both helped me, with both being excellent!!

No customer service - disappointed
It took 3.5 weeks to repair a bumper on my 2018 GLC Mercedes. In that time, not once did they call me to update me. When we tried to call them we would often have to call 2-4 times before someone would answer - we found very quickly that leaving a message did not work. The excuse for not getting the fairly common part was that it was ordered from Florida and the hurricane delayed shipping. Actually we brought the car in at least a week before the hurricane. Was there no other part in the whole country that was not in t he hurricane zone? At the very least, you would think they would call me. My husband had to take over calling because I was so frustrated. He found out that the car might be available today - when we got there and I told the manager that we had not received a call he turned to the secretary and she said she was going to call us. I had to laugh. The work on the car is ok but if you expect even a tiny amount of customer service, don't go here!

The repair department is the worst use of money and time I have ever spent in my life. Do not go here at all please. I took my car to be repaired, because my “check engine light” came on and it shook. I thought it might be the catyletic (sp?) converter according to my owner’s manual. However, I was told, by the mechanic, that it was not and then they proceeded to hold my car 2 weeks. When I called, they didn’t call me, they told me it was ready. Starr Motors charged me over $1700 and then gave me the key I started my car. It was worse than ever. I gave them back my keys and let them know it was not fixed. Had to leave it another weekend and on Monday they told me that it was the catyletic converter. I left.

Went in for coolant change and flush. Overcharge big time. Plus go down the road later same day engine warning light came on and radiator fans came on. Pulled over and found coolant tank empty. Advanced Auto nearby, I put the whole bottle of coolant in over the next 10 minutes. Poor service and attitude from Haley's in Farmville. I will never go there again.
Questionable service department - remkommando
To begin with I cannot attest to Marlow’s sales department as I’ve never engaged them for a vehicle purchase. However, I must seriously question the performance of its service department. I recently brought my Jeep into Marlow Motor Company initially for a factory recall. Moreover, since the vehicle required an up to date state inspection, I requested that this also be done. The service department further convinced me to have a differential service performed due to the vehicle’s current mileage. Cost: ($400). In the end the experience was less than satisfactory to say the least. Marlow did provide a loaner vehicle for which I was most appreciative. However, after several hours I contacted the service department for a status update. I was informed that the factory recall, differential servicing and an oil change had been completed but that the vehicle inspection was being conducted at that moment. Soon after a service technician explained to me that the vehicle had failed the inspection due to its oversized wheels exceeding the distance of the fender flares. I questioned this as the previous inspection was conducted by the dealership in which I purchased the vehicle. No alterations have been done to the vehicle since its purchase. Why did it pass then? No satisfactory explanation was provided on why two dealerships would have different interpretations on Virginia’s inspection policies and guidelines, i.e., wheel sizes and fender flares dimensions. Having said this my biggest angst was why the inspection wasn’t performed first rather than last? With the vehicle failing, common sense and courtesy would dictate that the service department would have informed me of the situation and whether they should proceed with the differential service and oil change. In this case the answer would have been a resounding NO and I would have saved several hundred dollars. The vehicle is now “deadline” in my garage until next spring or summer. Again, I cannot speak about the quality and performance of Marlow’s sales department. However, for those looking to have their vehicles serviced for maintenance my recommendation would be to look elsewhere.

Called Quinn’s Finance Dept (our closest DodgeDealer) for help with our Expiring Dodge lease. You would think they would realize there would be a new car sale in the transaction. The Finance Dept offered zero help with a condensing attitude so we moved on to the next Dodge dealer.
