I would leave a one star review, but everyone I, and my husband, spoke with was very nice. The reason for the two star review is that Heiser Ford Lincoln had my 2017 Chrysler Pacifica for four days an husband, spoke with was very nice. The reason for the two star review is that Heiser Ford Lincoln had my 2017 Chrysler Pacifica for four days and did not discover that the positive terminal was loose, despite my telling the dealership that I had recently had a new battery installed. The reason that I took my Chrysler to a Ford dealership is that I bought my Pacifica used from a Ford dealership earlier in the year and they threw in a two year premium Ford extended warranty, so any work I need done that is not wear and tear is covered with a low deductible. I have since discovered that, because I did not buy my vehicle from the dealership that I am taking it to for work, they do not always have the equipment to diagnose my problems. I also feel like there is less motivation to keep me as a customer, but I almost feel like this is understandable since I do not even own the type of vehicle that the dealership sells. But I digress. I told Heiser that my car was doing weird electrical things. The passenger window would roll down for no reason, the engine would hesitate, and I almost stalled two times while in heavy downtown Chicago interstate traffic. I mentioned that I had a new battery installed recently (about a month to five weeks earlier.) I thought perhaps it was a bad battery or a short in my electrical system. They were unable to find the problem, despite having my vehicle for four days. They said that I would have to take it to their Fastlane on 76th to get a diagnosis, but I needed to use it that weekend. I picked up my van on a Thursday and on Friday I had to move my daughter to college in Minneapolis. We packed the van to the top and were four blocks from my home when the passenger window went down and the van actually did stall. I called Heiser and they told me to take it to the Fastlane. I called the Fastlane place and they said they would not be able to do anything that day. Obviously, my daughter was freaking out since school started on the following Monday. We ended up renting a Pacifica from the airport, which we were very lucky to be able to do. We were lucky that they had the same size vehicle and that we could afford the $225 to rent it. Not everyone would be that lucky. The following week I took my van to the Fastlane and the mechanic there diagnosed the problem as a loose positive battery terminal within ten minutes of my being there. The person who had installed the battery lost a piece that had helped clamp the terminal in place (another business, not Heiser.) It was sliding all over on the battery and was VERY dangerous. To sum this up, I am just not sure what they did with my van for four days. I could have stalled in traffic in the middle of the expressway on the way to Minneapolis and am very glad this didn't happen. On a positive note, they did not charge me for doing nothing! More
