In August 2025, I brought my 2016 Kia Sorento V6 to this location because the Check Engine light was on. They identified code P0132, changed the oil, cleared/reset the code, and released the vehicle. In my location because the Check Engine light was on. They identified code P0132, changed the oil, cleared/reset the code, and released the vehicle. In my opinion, they did not meaningfully diagnose the root cause of why the Check Engine light came on. The vehicle seemed okay for a while, but the problem later came back. After that, an independent O’Reilly scan showed a much more serious engine-fault picture, including misfire and timing/camshaft correlation codes. The vehicle later went into limp mode on the highway while I was driving it to another Luther Kia service location. That later Luther location documented that the engine was approximately 4 quarts low on oil in a system that holds about 6.5 quarts. This made the earlier handling by Luther Kia Bloomington even more concerning to me. They had the vehicle first, saw an engine-related Check Engine condition, but the issue was effectively cleared/reset instead of being seriously investigated. My concern is not that an older vehicle had a problem. My concern is that I went to an authorized Kia dealership with a Check Engine issue, and the vehicle was released without a real root-cause diagnosis. That initial “clear/reset and send it out” approach created major problems for me later and left me feeling that serious engine concerns were not handled with the care they deserved. After this experience, I will not use Luther Kia Bloomington or any Luther-affiliated service department again. I previously trusted the Luther network with this vehicle, but that trust is gone. To me, this was the first missed opportunity to catch a serious engine problem. Instead of treating the Check Engine light as a warning sign that needed root-cause diagnosis, the issue was cleared/reset and the vehicle was released. That decision created enormous problems for me later. More

My wife and I had a good experience with Luther Kia. No pressure sales folks there, which made the process alot better. We worked with Rich to find the right car and he was great. We did however have a No pressure sales folks there, which made the process alot better. We worked with Rich to find the right car and he was great. We did however have an issue with the car when we noticed a leak the first night. We informed Kia and they took the car back to inspect and gave us a loaner which was great. The only downfall was their inaccurate timeline they gave us for repair. After explaining the inaccurate timline to the regional manager Dan, he acted quickly to resolve the issue and on top of that, thew in a new set if tires for the 5 day inconvenience. It was over all a good car buying experience. More

My wife and I bought a used CRV from Luther Kia of Bloomington in November 2024. All of the staff we worked with the day we bought it were pleasant and there was no pressure. Unfortunately, our experi Bloomington in November 2024. All of the staff we worked with the day we bought it were pleasant and there was no pressure. Unfortunately, our experience after that day has not gone well. On the way home from the dealership we noticed a howling noise at highway speeds that we didn’t notice during the test drive. We took the vehicle to our mechanic the following day and learned there was a wheel bearing that needed replacing and the U-joints were in poor condition, so the drive shaft also needed replacing. We called the dealership that same day to tell them what was found and to see what could be done. We spoke to the Used Car Sales Manager who blamed us for not noticing the issue during the test drive. One of his comments was, “What did you expect, you bought a car with 100k miles on it.” What we had expected was better customer service and the dealership to stand by their service and inspection of the vehicle prior to sale. Had we known we would need to invest $2000 of repairs into the car immediately after purchase, we would have looked at something else. The used car manager said we could bring the car back to the dealership to be looked at but they wouldn't fix anything they didn’t deem to be a safety issue. Since there was no guarantee we would get anything from the dealership if we brought it there, we had mechanic do the repairs instead. We then reached out to the general manager of the dealership expressing our disappointment with the used car manager and asked what could be done to resolve our issue. After some back and forth and his review of the invoice from our mechanic, he agreed to meet us halfway on the repair costs and said they would be sending us a check. That was in mid-December. It is now March and we still haven’t received any reimbursement. We have reached out to the general manager multiple times and he is not responding. This has been a poor experience that could have been handled so much better. We will not be buying from Luther again. More

I really enjoyed working with both Preston Simpson and Jeremy Archibald at this location.
