I'm very disappointed in the overall order and delivery process conducted by my salesperson at Taylor Ford, and the poor follow up regarding my concerns after I took delivery of the new car. I was referre process conducted by my salesperson at Taylor Ford, and the poor follow up regarding my concerns after I took delivery of the new car. I was referred to Taylor Ford by my brother. So, I passed by Royal Oak Ford, close to my home, and drove to Taylor to conduct the purchase of my existing 2020 leased car and to take on a new 2022 lease for a different car. The salesperson was nice throughout the process, but not attentive, as he failed to recognize my ongoing confusion per the many questions I was asking about the plug-in Escape or maybe he was too busy to really follow through with me to ensure that all confusion was removed prior to ordering a hybrid Escape on my behalf. Whatever the case, the salesperson never asked why I was still asking questions about how to plug-in the 2022 Escape at the time of pickup. To my surprise, I later discovered while at home, that the wrong car was ordered on my behalf. I didn't realize that the hybrid was not the electric/gas Escape, until after taking the car home, because I was not only confused about how the plug-in would work, but also, unfortunately, the Dealership's computer system went down before the lease contract could be completed. Therefore, I was unable to read information and ask questions about the new car that I was picking up before signing a completed contract. Instead, I drove the car home (the dealer subsequently US mailed a completed lease contract, that I received a few days later). Had I had an opportunity to read and discuss the paperwork while onsite, I'm sure that I would have realized there was a problem - as I had pointed out an error regarding the loan agreement for my 2020 Escape, because that paperwork was printed before the computer failure, and I was able to read it and discuss with the preparer. After speaking with the salesperson within the first week of taking delivery and being told by him that nothing could be done - I would be held to the two-year lease contract without an option to replace the car for the plug-in that I really wanted, I followed up with two calls and left messages to speak to the dealership manager (hoping to identify a solution), but I never received a call back. It has now been another full week and crickets from the dealership. I'm so disappointed that the manager (though I was told he was onsite when I called) has never found time to even discuss my concerns with me. I'm just stuck for two years - having to pay a lease for a car that I hate. Taylor Ford has washed their hands of the issue and moved on. More
