Lou Sobh’s team did not notify me about the timing belt
service that was due. It has been overdue for more than a year. At the end of May, I had the engine coolant replaced and paid $200 for that service.

In June, I discovered through a Google search that my car should have had the timing belt replaced a year earlier. I had to rush to Lou Sobh to get the full timing belt package done, which includes the timing belt, serpentine belt, water pump, and engine coolant replacement. The total cost was around $1,400.
They agreed to refund only the $200 for the coolant service I had done in May. They did not acknowledge their mistake or take responsibility for failing to notify me. They also refused to apply the 15% Costco discount for this maintenance.
I am very disappointed because I ended up paying about $225 more overall due to their lack of communication and unwillingness to correct the issue.

Thank you for sharing your concerns. I understand your frustration and wanted to provide some clarification regarding the service visit.
As a goodwill gesture, we applied more than $250 in discounts to your service, which reduced the price to the lowest amount we are able to offer on that particular maintenance. Additionally, Costco discounts do not apply to services that are already being offered at a promotional price, as outlined in the terms and conditions of our Costco agreement.
Regarding the maintenance recommendation, Honda provides mileage and time intervals as a guideline for replacing these components. In some cases, belts can show excessive wear or tensioners may exhibit leakage, which would warrant more immediate replacement. Neither condition was present on your vehicle at the time of service. While the maintenance was due according to Honda's schedule, there was no indication of an immediate concern or threat of a mechanical issue if the repair was deferred for a reasonable period.
We certainly regret any misunderstanding regarding the pricing and recommendations. However, we are unable to discount services beyond our actual cost, as that would require us to perform the repair at a loss.
We appreciate your business and hope this explanation helps clarify our position.
