Apparently, Elk Grove Toyota makes up registration laws and charges you for them. Forced fake “mandatory” California registration on Nevada residents. Shady and dishonest. Won't take accountability for their mishap, blames the buyer! I put my trust in the associate when purchasing my vehicle. I simply just wanted a refund for their mistake so I would not have to pay duplicate registration fees for both CA and NV. But no, John Thorpe can't take accountability and wants to ruin the buying process for me. They are dishonest, they want to just take your money, and they do not care about the buyer. They knew I was from out of state and resided in NV, and as a buyer who is not fully aware of all the policies and procedures to when it comes to buying a car from out of state I was misled by them and they won't take any accountability for it. As John states to me sarcastically on the phone " since it was Sunday the DMV is closed and that is how we do things" is what I was told after the fact!! I even had an appointment made in advance to come down and purchase the car. No mention of the issue of having the DMV closed on a Sunday and might make things complicated as an out of state buyer. They were well aware of what they were doing. After realizing that CA won't except my insurance because it's based in NV, and I was told as I was in the middle of paperwork that having CA license registration and plates were fine, and I even brought up the fact that I don't want to have to end up having to pay duplicate registration fees if this back fires. The associate assured it would be fine and we could just renew after the year was up in Nevada. But turns out they are wrong, I even spoke to the CA DMV of Investigations and even telling them this, they are unwilling, unapologetic about reimbursing me for the CA fees so I can re-register in NV. But no, John Thorpe can care less that I have to pay well over a thousand dollars to register my vehicle now in NV. This is their mess up, and they can't even take accountability! STAY FAR FAR AWAY from this dealership if you are not wanting to be pushed and scammed and pressured into something, and for them to not even make things right is ridiculous! More

Since I would be coming from the Bay Area I called and was connected with Tareena who checked and then double checked inventory, assured me it would be there for me, set an appointment, lined me up with a great salesman, Andriy, and connected me with a sales manager, John, who quoted me a somewhat reduced price on the spot which I accepted. On the way there I got lost on back roads because of a detour but I called and Andriy said not to worry. Arriving 45 minutes late Andriy was waiting at the curb and we were on the road in about five minutes. He was knowledgeable, patient, helpful and relaxed ........ no hard sell from him, actually he was the best car salesman I had ever worked with. He honored the price from John and after quickly moving through some paper work he passed me on to Samir in finance after Tareena stopped by to say hello. Samir was equally professional, informative and patient, no hard upselling from Samir. He quickly and efficiently moved through the multitude of mandatory documents. His space age desktop was amazing and made the process quick and painless. So, it was a class act from start to finish, far and away the best car buying experience I have ever had. Everyone was pleasant, professional, honest, knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. When we ran into some issues due to some of my special requirements they took them in stride and quickly came up with good solutions. So if I am in the market for a car in the future, Elk Grove Toyota is the first place I will look. More
