Anthony (Winston Rutherford) was TERRIFIC - truly a five-star experience. From the beginning, he listened carefully, understood exactly what I was looking for, and recognized that my biggest priority w five-star experience. He respected that throughout the entire transaction and kept things moving at a great pace. This was a relatively straightforward sale, and Anthony made it feel that way. He was attentive to the details, responsive, and able to answer my questions clearly without making me feel pressured or trying to upsell me on every possible add-on. I particularly appreciated that he seemed focused on helping me buy the car I wanted rather than simply trying to maximize the sale. Anthony was knowledgeable, personable, respectful of my time, and the consummate professional. I would absolutely recommend working with him and would happily seek him out again for a future purchase. My experience of the finance process was not as positive. I came in with a preapproved loan, and DCH provided a competing offer with a lower interest rate but a higher monthly payment. When I asked questions because I wanted to understand how the numbers worked and what accounted for the difference, I felt that the finance representative was dismissive rather than interested in helping me understand the terms. Ultimately, I chose the DCH financing primarily because of the lower interest rate and, frankly, because by that point I was motivated to get the process over with. I left feeling that I had made the decision without having my questions addressed as clearly or respectfully as I would have liked. What concerned me much more, however, was the way Robert spoke to my salesperson, Anthony, in front of me. I was genuinely shocked by how rude, dismissive, and condescending Robert was toward him. At one point, Anthony attempted to clarify something related to the transaction, and Robert's manner toward him was unnecessarily belittling. It was uncomfortable to witness as a customer. These are colleagues working in the same office, and these interactions were taking place directly in front of a customer. Regardless of hierarchy, role, or whatever disagreement may have been occurring behind the scenes, there is no reason to speak to a colleague that way - particularly in a customer-facing interaction. It struck me as disrespectful to Anthony and deeply unprofessional. Anthony, by contrast, remained professional throughout the interaction. He did not respond in kind or allow Robert's behavior to affect the way he treated me. If anything, witnessing the exchange made me appreciate Anthony's professionalism even more. I understand that buying a car involves multiple departments and that the finance process can be complicated. I also don't expect every interaction to be perfect. But customers notice how employees are treated, not just how employees treat customers. The way Robert communicated with Anthony significantly affected my impression of the dealership and was, unfortunately, one of the things I remembered most clearly about the experience. More
