I've been with Smythe Volvo since 1991 and have over thirty years experience in the automotive industry. The best part about working at Smythe Volvo is the local business feel of the company. Knowing almost every customer who walks into the shop is a great feeling. My favorite Volvo of all time was the C30. It was a small, fast and super-fun 2 door hatchback with a turbo 5 cylinder engine. When not at Smythe Volvo, you can find me kayaking or fishing somewhere in New Jersey.

This vehicle was sold as-is, with full disclosure of its condition, and an extended warranty was offered — and declined — on two separate occasions. Despite that, because we genuinely care about the people we do business with, our team performed additional repair work at no charge as a goodwill gesture after the sale. The characterization of our team's response is not consistent with the standards we hold ourselves to, and I would welcome the opportunity to speak with you directly. Thank you for your response. However, I want to be very clear that I have no reason to lie or misrepresent what happened. The repairs to the vehicle were not fully completed as discussed prior to the sale. Before leaving the dealership, I specifically raised my concern about the check engine light that had appeared on the dashboard. I was reassured that the issues identified would be addressed. Unfortunately, shortly after leaving the dealership, the check engine light came back on again. Because of this, I had no choice but to take the vehicle for a full diagnostic at my own expense to understand what was still wrong with the car. If the repairs had been properly completed as promised, I would not have needed to do that. In addition, after your dealership publicly responded to my review stating that Kevin Flanagan would help resolve the situation, I made several attempts to reach out to him directly. I left multiple voicemail messages and even contacted the dealership asking to speak with him. I also left a message for Jose and attempted to reach several other staff members at the dealership. Unfortunately, none of my calls or messages have been returned. I am simply sharing my honest experience. As a customer, I trusted the information that was provided to me regarding the condition of the vehicle and the repairs that were supposed to be completed. I also made every effort to resolve this matter directly with your dealership before having to continue raising these concerns publicly. At this point, I would still appreciate a direct response and a genuine effort to address the issue.
