Back in beginning of August took my daughters 2007 Honda Pilot in because the alarm was going off randomly (usually at 2 or 3 in the morning). was told the computer doesn't talk to the alarm but 80% of the Pilot in because the alarm was going off randomly (usually at 2 or 3 in the morning). was told the computer doesn't talk to the alarm but 80% of the time its the hood latch. I asked what if I'm the 20%? Was told again fixes 80% of the time. $411.59 later I get the vehicle back and the alarm goes off three times over the weekend! called Honda on that Monday and brought it back. Vehicle was with them for almost a week and they said the alarm didn't go off. I asked "doesn't anyone there trouble shoot electrical problems or do you need to computer to tell you what to fix?" Was told that alarm didn't go off and did I want to pick it up. My daughter and I went to get and the kicker was they couldn't find the vehicle at first ! A woman from the service counter came out and was able to locate it. After a couple of months I couldn't deal with this issue, plus I'm sure my neighbors were upset, I took it to Ken's Automotive in Ringoes on October 12. They looked at it and confirmed the computer didn't talk to the alarm but then looked under the dash and called me to say it was an aftermarket alarm. He said he could remove it which he did. $160 later problem solved. I called Honda today to try to understand why the dealership couldn't figure this out but a mechanic on the street could. Got a call back that they would split the bill with me for a service credit. Thing is I'd have to come back to have work done. Told them if they want to make the note in the system go ahead but I'd have to really give it some thought before I came back. Dealer couldn't address issue but Mechanic in Ringoes figured it out. More
