Michael Quinn at Herb Chambers was fantastic. I only buy a new car every 5 to 10 years and usually dread it. However, this was one of the best experiences I've ever had. A good start that ended badly. Initially, Patrick was quite pleasant. He patiently answered our questions and let us take a test drive. For that we give him 3 stars. The problem started after we returned quite pleasant. He patiently answered our questions and let us take a test drive. For that we give him 3 stars. The problem started after we returned to the dealership. We've leased our last 8 cars, so we are very familiar with calculating lease numbers. I asked Patrick a simple question: What's the residual value of the car we just drove? Patrick wouldn't tell us. Instead he insisted that he wanted to give us "all the numbers." We reminded Patrick that we had been upfront in saying that we were only there to take a test drive, not to discuss an offer. Still, Patrick would not tell us the car's residual value. We probably should have left at that point, but Patrick insisted that the residual value would be included in "all the numbers," so we agreed to let him do what he wanted to do. That was a mistake. Patrick went outside to perform the well-known act of inspecting our present car, and then disappeared inside the dealership. After ten minutes of waiting I went looking for him and said we were leaving. Only then did he give me a printed page with an offer, which is what we said we didn't want, and still we had no residual value. (And it wasn't even a decent offer.) Over the many years that we have been leasing cars, we have dealt with several different Herb Chambers dealerships. I'm sorry to say that we were subjected to the same or similar games at every one of them. To me, that's a sign that the sales tactics come from the top. That's why I give Herb Chambers 3 stars. More
