It's very frustrating when a dealership receives a review such as this, especially when my professional staff follow the legal processes. This customer who was purchasing a very low mileage 2008 Toyota Prius from Ira Lexus of Manchester had agreed to a very fair deal priced at 90% to the market ($1,000 below average). Consumers don't agree to any financial commitment when the price is too high or it doesn't suit them financially, nor do we expect them to. A Purchase & Sales Agreement is a document that a consumer signs agreeing to purchasing a vehicle a knowing the Selling price and other Fee's that meet the State of which they reside. This customer did sign the agreement 1/22/24 and the customer agreed it was his signature when asked by my Pre-Owned Manager (we have text from the customer). Also it protects the customer from anyone else being able to purchase that particular vehicle because it's an under agreement. The reason this customer received Red Flags when submitting the Credit Application was because the system identified inconsistencies of which I will not share because it's personal information. When Red Flags are triggered it's our responsibility to ask the customer a set of questions generated by Red Flag, submit the answers to clear the flags. This not only protects the customer but also the dealership from potential fraud. This customer then decided to pay cash for the 2008 Prius which we agreed to and then wanted to renegotiate the price that we had already agreed to, a price that is already priced 10% below market value. Our Documentation Fee is only $495 and has been this for many years. Any additional Fees are related to the State of Residence of which the dealership has no control over. Our Core Values are Transparency, Integrity, Professionalism, Respect and Teamwork and we stand by them. Our business model is a long term one not short term profits. Ira Lexus of Manchester is operated by a team of professionals looking out for our customer's best interest. It's a very simple business and we keep it very simple. It's very transparent for our potential customers because on our website we have iPacket which allows the customer to look at the Repair Order, Carfax, Original MSRP, Specs and over 30 photos of the vehicle. It's simple.... You would like to purchase a vehicle and we would love to sell you one but not only to you but your friends and family. The dealership doesn't get that opportunity by not following the Core Values and Professionalism.

The salesman James obfuscated the truth. He never said "this is a purchase agreement", NO WHERE is the document titled 'Purchase Agreement'. He asked to run my credit. I said "sure". This is inherently deceptive. I have no qualms with your legal protocol, it's with your ethical ones. Then to try to intimidate me into agreeing to your price, "the customer agreed it was his signature", which was signed under false pretenses. Then it's communicated to me that the price of the car goes up due to NITROGEN in the tires. Why not include that in the online advertised price? I ask the sales manager can you remove this charge? He says "it's part of the deal". Non-negotiable. It's all these little surprises, fees, why people don't trust car salesmen or dealerships. "This is how all dealerships operate" Well maybe it's time for dealerships to change... ?
