I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with a recent transaction. My trade-in vehicle was appraised at just over $8,000, following extensive negotiation to reduce its valuation. Subsequently, I observed transaction. My trade-in vehicle was appraised at just over $8,000, following extensive negotiation to reduce its valuation. Subsequently, I observed the same vehicle listed for nearly $16,000. Concurrently, there was considerable resistance regarding necessary repairs to the vehicle I was purchasing, including a dispute over replacing significantly worn tires, despite the premium price requested for the vehicle. Furthermore, the "Lifetime Powertrain Warranty" offered is highly restrictive. It mandates that all maintenance, including routine preventative services such as oil changes, spark plug replacements, and brake work, must be performed exclusively by Jim Butler personnel. Any service conducted by an external party or the owner themselves will invalidate the warranty. For customers residing within a 50-mile radius of a Jim Butler dealership, all service must be performed by them, and adherence to all recommended services outlined in the owner's manual is compulsory to maintain warranty validity. While I ultimately proceeded with the purchase, I will not consider Jim Butler Chevrolet for future vehicle acquisitions. I overheard my salesman's manager stating that no further deals would be made for my transaction. More
