OUR HISTORY
Walt DeBoer founded Lithia Motors in 1946 as a Chrysler-Plymouth-Dodge dealership in Ashland, Oregon. Following Walt’s death in 1968, Walt’s son Sid along with Dick Heimann, grew the business to include 5 stores and 19 franchises in Southern Oregon. In December 1996, this collection of dealerships was transformed into Lithia Motors, Inc., a publicly traded company (NYSE stock symbol-LAD). We envisioned a company that would continuously grow, provide great customer service, and opportunities for employees.
TODAY
Lithia is one of America’s largest automotive retailers featuring most domestic and import franchises. Our stores serve urban and rural populations throughout the Western and Midwest United States.
We are focused on providing customers with an honest and simpler buying and service experience. We are giving customers straightforward information so that they can make confident decisions.
We believe that our local communities are our lifeblood. In addition to the employment opportunities we provide in each of our neighborhoods, we also provide contributions to charitable organizations that serve our families, friends, and customers.

We came in to purchase our leased 2018 Santa Fe and we were there for over 3 hours. Once we began signing the paper work the finance person just wanted to push the service warranty and continued to say th were there for over 3 hours. Once we began signing the paper work the finance person just wanted to push the service warranty and continued to say that the vehicle would break down it was such a good idea to get the warranty. After we left the dealer my wife received 5 emails from various financial institutions indicating that she had applied for an auto loan with each of them. Based on this her credit score came down around 25 to 30 points. We were never told that in looking for financing they would "run" or apply for each institution. This will be the last vehicle we will purchase from Lithia. I will continue taking the vehicle for service there since I have always had good luck with all the service folks. More
