Hi Brian my name is Doug Wells the GM here at Ray Catena. I wanted to go over a few things with you. I see you are the third owner of this car and it looks like it was purchased out of Texas. It also looks like it was purchased with the just the Base CPO warranty. Also the car had a minor accident with the second owner did not know if you were aware of that. The fact that there is something that needs to be repaired that is not covered on the CPO warranty is not our fault. Fred stating he would have helped if the car was purchased from us is true because we back our cars that we put through the CPO process. MBUSA even offered you $1000 good will which you declined. I spoke with Fred and said that they did not denied getting you the part number. If you still want the parts number I can get them for you. We are a big dealership that works on relationships not volume. It's the reason why we have such a great reputation for over 40 years. Also your base CPO that came with your car will expire on 11/30/22 the dealer who sold it to you should have offered you the opportunity to purchase another a 1 year or 2 year CPO warranty for this car, which I would add if you plan on keeping it. I can also send you the Warranty info for your car so you know what the CPO warranty covers. (This should have been given to you at time of sale) Feel free to contact me anytime to discuss in detail. Doug, a couple points here. You raise the point that there was a ‘minor accident’. Yes, I am aware of the minor front bumper damage from being backed into in a parking lot. I have the pictures. Seems that you bring this up in an attempt to say my exhaust issue is a result of the history of the car. It is not. As you know, my car went through the Mercedes CPO process and passed as a CPO, which is why I was able to be offered the CPO warranty in the first place. My point remains…if I bought the car at your dealership, you would have looked to help a first time Mercedes customer. But because I did not purchase it from you, your team chose to deny it. This is why I say your dealership does not care about the Mercedes’ brand. You also mentioned MBUSA offered me 1k to fix the issue and I denied it. Yes, that is true. I consider it a slap in the face as 1k is not even 20% of the total $5500 bill your service dept wanted to charge me. And lastly, I called your parts department just this week where they explicitly told me they do not give out the part number because they would “lose the sale”. As I mentioned to my service advisor, this is the first and the last time I purchase a Mercedes’; and you can bet that the reason why is because of the treatment I received at Mercedes of Edison.

Brian I only brought up the accident because sometime people were not told or did not review the car fax which I did. . We do our best to take care of all customers but yes if it's our customer with a car that we sold and has an issue we will help in any way, even if it cost us money as you would expect from a dealer that sold you a car.
