Complimentary oil change I purchased a new GMC pickup two years ago and brought it in for its second oil change. (I don't drive it much.) The salesman had informed me at the time of purchase that the pickup came with two complimentary oil changes, which I appreciated very much. I made an appointment for an oil change on Friday, but the first available opening was the following Wednesday. I was greeted and treated very nicely and professionally by the young lady at the service desk. I left my pickup there for the day, as I had to go to work. Upon arriving that evening to pick up my vehicle, I was presented a bill for services. When I questioned why this was not considered a complimentary oil change, the lady at the desk showed me that the paper work spelled out that the complimentary oil changes were tied to a timeline and that my free oil changes had expired 4 days earlier. I was completely taken by surprise by this revelation. (At this point I will interject with a very honest response that I find that an expiration date like that is rather disappointing policy.) She took my paperwork and reappeared a few moments later with the news that I would be receiving the oil change for free--this one would be on the dealership. I appreciated her ability to make things "right" for me. Thank you. More
