Service dept needs to be audited for certifications service writers are not service managers they act like messengers that have no working knowledge of how a car works We went in for a three hundred service writers are not service managers they act like messengers that have no working knowledge of how a car works We went in for a three hundred dollar plus estimate to install a starter. After two thousand dollars paid with out installing the starter which I told them from the start was the problem. We picked up the vehicle went straight to gas station guess what the car wouldn’t start. After six new injectors six new spark plugs and a new factory battery the car failed to start. Somebody want to tell me how this happens we took the car back yesterday with the new starter again at eight in the morning for what we were told would be a three to four hour job. We were contacted by service writer and he informed us that some how a bolt was broken on the alternator and part that they would get from another dealership on Saturday. Now in case you don’t know the starter and alternator are not in the same zip code as far as to their locations. Service writer calls back to tell me that they put in a brand new alternator why I don’t know a broken bolt is just that a broken bolt it’s not a broken alternator. Anybody want to tell me how this happens? You have my number I will be waiting for an explanation if you can come up with a couple of good ones. Please put some effort into the explanations if you dare to come up with a couple of them and not a continuation of this B S I have received so far because right now as far as I am concerned my relationship with this dealership is on life support. A continuation of previous actions or inactions would force me to pull the plug on said life support. In closing I told them it was the starter I even brought one with me but they had no confidence in my diagnosis I was told their equipment is more sophisticated then my scanner after I told them that I had the same codes they found this would all be laughable except the Sixteen hundred dollars over planed expense based on original estimate of just the starter. Did I mention that the battery that was in the car was my personal battery that I checked with a voltage meter and a hydrometer test as well as a load test and it was all good but my friend would eventually need a battery so she agrees and bought one from your dealership. What all this proves to me is yes you may have certified techs their but what are they certified in. Examples one if a eleven year old starter and a new fresh out of the box starter are making the same noise don’t call me and say the one I brought is junk. Tell me why the two starters are making the same noise. Let me give you a hint the only thing the two have in common is the what? That’s right the ring gear when I asked what if anything did the tech say about condition of ringbgear I got no response which tells me the tech never looked at the ring gear otherwise based on previous behavior when it comes to diagnosis I should have been told it would be another three thousand dollars because the engine and transmission need to be separated to replace the ring gear. The second item was the battery if the tech would have applied the three test that I had run on my battery he would have concluded that it was the starter all he had to do was put an clamp on anemometer and he would have seen the exceptional amount of amps Being drawn by the defected starter. This has been a wake up call for me to letting my guard down. This should be a wake up call for your repair side of this dealership after all that is were you make your money right. RIGHT!
