I wanted to share my recent experience so others can make informed decisions before doing business here. On Monday, 8/4/25, I went online to check if a specific vehicle was still available and submitted a informed decisions before doing business here. On Monday, 8/4/25, I went online to check if a specific vehicle was still available and submitted a request for information. On Tuesday, 8/5/25, the dealership contacted me confirming that the vehicle was indeed still available. We scheduled an appointment for Wednesday evening, 8/6/25. However, on Wednesday morning, I received a call saying the vehicle had a recall and wouldn’t be available for about a week. I told them I was still interested, and they offered to contact me when it was ready. On Friday, 8/8/25, they called back to say the vehicle had returned. I let them know my work schedule might not allow me to visit over the weekend, so we set an appointment for Monday, 8/11/25. Because I couldn’t make it that weekend, I asked my parents to go look at the vehicle for me on Saturday, 8/9/25. I stayed on the phone with them and the salesperson while they were at the dealership. Initially, the salesperson told us the price was firm and couldn’t go any lower. Then, while they were still in the office, the salesperson suddenly claimed the price had just dropped by $1,500 and urged us to “jump on the deal.” When I pointed out that this “new” price was the same price I saw online back on 8/4/25, the salesperson insisted that I was mistaken and that the drop had just happened that day. This felt like an attempt to gaslight both me and my family. It got worse when I asked about the recall I was told about earlier in the week. The salesperson first said there was no recall on the vehicle. When I gave specific dates and details from Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, they claimed they had never reached out to me, then changed the story again, saying the recall was for a “different” vehicle I had supposedly been looking at. I made it clear I had never inquired about any other vehicle and even had the VIN for the exact one they told me had a recall. The salesperson continued to twist the conversation in a way that made it seem like I didn’t have my facts straight. This was going to be my first experience purchasing a new vehicle, and my family traveled over an hour to the dealership for nothing. Instead of feeling valued as a customer, I felt misled, manipulated, and disrespected. This kind of behavior does not reflect the honesty and integrity I expect from a business that claims to prioritize customer satisfaction. I left with a bad impression, and unfortunately, I cannot recommend Star Chevrolet in Wiggins, MS based on this experience. More
