My experience with this dealership has been excellent. The sales team treated me with respect and became an advocate for me when my NEW Volvo was experiencing some minor issues. The service department was professional and was able to rectify the problem after several days. During that time, I had updates on the progress, was given a loaner at no charge and made sure that when I picked up my beautiful new car, I was satisfied. KE

I always get great service when taking my car in for service, or just an oil change at The Autobarn Volvo in Oak Park. On my most recent oil change visit, and with advice from service advisor Marc Kubil, I scheduled an appointment for having my brakes replaced, since the pads were very worn. I trust in them in spotting any problems before something goes wrong.

I scheduled my 90,000 service online and was quoted $345. When I got to the dealership I was told the cost was $1100. I was intimidate into paying the higher price saying that the website was incorrect. The other reason I went in was because the check engine light was on. I told the service tech when it came on. After my service was done, the tech told me he didn't have them do the check engine light because I said it came on when I got gas (I'm no mechanic, It could've been something else). When I insisted they do it, all he had them do was reset the light, no diagnostic. Of course the check engine light came back on the next day. The tech also didn't give me any feedback on if other things need attention (as per the 90,000 mile service). Again when I pushed to get answers, he was rude and said he had other customers to attend to. I asked for the service manager (Frank) and was told he was on vacation and they would have him call me on Monday. Of course, I got no call, so I called him. I was told he would look into it and call me back. After speaking with Frank and explaining my treatment, he said he would speak with tech and call me back. # days later, no call, so I called back. Franks solution was to offer me a credit to bring the truck back in to have the diagnostic done (that I already paid for). His solution for the rude tech was that I will see someone else when I come in (no apology from him for his rude behavior). Of course when the truck was taken back in for the check engine diagnostic, there was an issue other than the fuel cap. So now there is another charge for $1000 and 3 more hours of time. This isn't the typical service I get from them, this is why we always take our vehicles there. 98% of the time my husband takes the vehicles in. I just feel like I was treated this way because I am a woman. You can typically tell when this happens and I try to handle the situation myself. As women we shouldn't have to have men do things for us to receive decent treatment.

Sales at this dealership sucks. They are so unresponsive and unhelpful and their prices suck. They have some of the highest prices and aren't negotiable one bit. They don't even bother trying to accommodate you one bit. The general manager sends an email to you and when you respond he doesn't even bother responding to your questions. Can't imagine how many sales they have lost. I bought two previous vehicles from Patrick dealers but never again.

Akrim A. His thoughtfulness and genuine care averts disaster - medicine hat

Akrim A. deserves a great dept of gratitude from me. I had what seemed like a very minor condition materialize with my Jaguar the night before I had a very long drive for a client meeting. Akrim's care revealed an unrelated but extremely dangerous condition with one of my tyres. He insisted I leave the vehicle as he did not think it was safe for me. I would never have noticed this condition on my own. I had no reason to check. Without Akrim's genuine concern for me personally, my long drive could have ended very badly. Instead, I was driving a very nice and very safe vehicle provided for me as a courtesy at Akrim's insistence. Akrim and everyone at Howard Orloff, you've been great to me for 26 years!!!! Interestingly, I did not end-up purchasing a vehicle from McLaughlin, as I live out of state and did not need to factor-in service, customer orientation, friendliness, trustworthiness, etc. I will end up servicing my vehicle locally here in Arizona. However, my experience with Brian Cox was nothing short of outstanding. As a sales leader myself, I am hyper-critical of the prototypical "salesy" car salesman. My experience with Brian was the opposite. He worked to be a trusted advisor, strove to ensure I had everything I needed to make an intelligent decision, and went the extra mile to ensure my experience with Volvos in general was top-notch. Brian is the kind of salesman I'd want to represent my company - in it for the customer rather than to pad his own pockets. He's just a good human being. Undoubtedly, he will (or likely already does) have an army of loyal customers who trust his advice and enjoy his friendly personality. Thank you, Brian. If I ever move within 100 miles of Moline, I guarantee I'll buy a vehicle at McLaughlin and join that army.

Left with more problems than I came in with - unhappynow

Came in with urgent airbag message and left with urgent airbag message, urgent ABS message, wipers that wont turn off (they just pulled the fuse and left it in the fuse box), and turn signals that don't work. All this is the result of them just doing a diagnostic scan. I can go back and have them look at it again for a minimum of $600 - no guarantees on what the final figure will be.
