Took my new to me 2015 GL350 3.0L Diesel in for service and check up before I take my family on a 2000 mile road trip.. I let Assistant Service Manager Michael Hayes know my concerns with my new vehicle and my intended use of road tripping with it and he insured me he would have it completely checked out before our adventure. He contacted me the next morning with a few concurs, Brake Fluid flush, Broken Dip Stick, Ram Air intake hose (all of these I was expecting and ready to approve for fix) Then he added BlueDef (150.00) Tires (1400.00) and Alignment (250.00) I knew it needed tires, but found them online for 750.00, Def 24.00 at Costco and the alignment I will find out after the new tires. I told him so and he did not disagree or try to change my mind.. I was shocked, no pushy service guy. Picked up vehicle and it was cleaned and ready to go... New Tires and Alignment this week and we are good to go.

It's bad enough to have to pay $349.44 for a B service (oil, filter. change brake fluid) then good old Ed Hicks has to stick it to you with $6.00 windshield washer fluid and $71.60 wiper blade replacement charges. How does a dealer justify $71.60 for wiper blades and replacement on top of a $250.00 B service labor charge ??

I am filing my complaint with the Houston BBB and State AG for violation of the Texas Deceptive trade Practice Act (DTPA). My letter of complaint listing the outright lies should be available for review on the BBB website shortly, Lied to by the salesman, then the service dept. and my letter of complaint ignored by the GM, Tom Jinks. Went up the chain to the President of M-B USA, Dietmar Exler. The entire 4-5 week episode basically ended up with Mr. Exler, taking the "Buyer Beware" attitude that M-B USA has no interest in how Star Motor Co. handles their business. When asked who the owner or President of Star Motor Co, is and how to contact him/her, "Melissa" with M-B told she did not know, did not care, the highest official M-B was aware of was the V-Pres. Tom Jinks. It is astounding that M-B USA does not even know who they are doing business with. I later did detective work to find the owner. Star Motor Co. Website says it is a 70 yr. "family owned" business but refuses to let customers contact the owner/President to file a complaint after being stonewalled by GM Tom Jinks. The property owner of Star Motor Co is shown as Mohammad Iqbal Malik, but unable to validate if he is the 70 yr. family head of Star Motor Co.. A close friend had a similar bad experience with Star with his E350, got so mad he traded it for a Jaguar. It is unfortunate the lowest is one star rating as these folks are NO STARS..

I was lied to and cheated by the Mercedes Benz of McKinney dealership. I bought a car 4 days ago today that sits in my garage because it doesn't work. I paid cash for it 12-31-2020. I specifically asked if anything at all was wrong with the vehicle and I was told NO. I took it back to the dealership yesterday(day 3 of having it) and they tell me it needs motor mounts, transmission mounts because all are severley depleted and the rear transfer case is also broken. I asked for a manager, I spoke with George, he would not return my money at all. Buyers remorse apparently is not a thing with this dealership. Absolutely refused to give my money back. This place is nothing short of unethical and dishonest. Sonic's number one goal according to their corporate website is honesty. It is not at this place. Day 4 I have a vehicle sitting in my garage. They did not disclose any issues to me. This vehicle was sold in bad faith and dishonesty. it is unethical they have basically stolen money from me by lying. I did my due diligence and specifically asked and I was told it has NO Issues or problems. What are you going to do to fix this situation? They even wanted me to pay thousands to fix it. I would like my money back , if Sonic truly cares about honesty and ethics they will make Mercedes Benz of McKinney do the right thing and refund me in full please.

My wife and I are extremely upset with our experience at Mercedes-Benz of North Houston. We purchased a Red 2017 Mercedes C63 S convertible. Less than a week after purchasing this vehicle, we noticed a loud thumping noise coming from under the car when pulling in and backing out of our driveway. It is under warranty, so we took it in for service. We were told the issue couldn’t be duplicated. We took the vehicle back; however, we immediately noticed the same thumping noise. We brought the vehicle back and after a week, we were told it was fixed. Out of precaution and before leaving service, we had a service manager do a test ride with us. The car wasn’t fixed, it was making same thumping noise so we left the car again. Two weeks later, we were called again and told the car was fixed and ready to pick up. Again, out of an abundance of caution, we had a service manager do a test ride with us, the problem was NOT fixed. At this point, we asked to speak with the GM. The GM did initially work with us and agreed to accept our vehicle back as a trade in and worked with us to find a new vehicle and we were able to do so. Things took a turn for the worst when we were told that our pre-paid maintenance plan purchased on the C63 S could not be refunded or transferred. At this point, I was beyond pissed. We paid $3K for this package that was never used on a broken vehicle that Mercedes couldn’t fix and we owned for less than 2 months. As a consolation prize, we were offered a discount on the same plan for our new car. I’m requesting a FULL REFUND of this plan and I’m ready to do what’s necessary to ensure that happens. Please don’t respond with a generic message that the GM would like to speak with me about this.
