Initially, I did not have the best experience, but I tend to not overall rate a local company because of an initial mistake, but more how they handle things when there are challenges. Cody the manager was very responsive and understanding to my feedback. I actually think he probably read "Hug Your Haters" written by my friend Jay Baer. All someone wants to do with car shopping is just get a price that makes them want to buy the car. At 2nd shot, that's what Cody did. The process was easy and Carson + random new guy on his first day (sorry forgot your name, but you were cool) were super friendly and fun. Actually asking me questions in a way where they seemed to try and get to know me while I was buying. The finance guy didn't try and oversell me on something I didn't need and was just straight forward. Then Cody even double checked on me at the end and offered to help with something I cared about in the future. That's how businesses in our area should be about things so we should encourage these types of things. Overall, the result was something I would say was good and I think me sharing the feedback will actually help them. Running businesses are hard so sometimes grace is needed and then when it happens then there's a good experience that results. That is what happened with me.

We decided we'd look for another reliable vehicle and we went up 44 East. We stopped at several dealerships along the way. We hadn't searched for a vehicle in a while and, up until we stopped at Schicker's Automotive, we were shocked to see how customer service had taken a serious nosedive. Several places we stopped, either we were ignored all together, no one offered to help or they diddle-daddled around. But, Schicker's Automotive was unlike anywhere we stopped that day. From the moment we drove in their driveway, someone was right there and said, "Pull right on in!" From the get-go, I let our salesperson, Ken Briick, know our price range and even though we were looking for a used car, we were treated with the utmost of courtesy and respect. The process was easy and trading in our vehicle was easy, too. They were very organized and every single person there was polite, charasmatic and friendly. Ken even took our picture standing in front of our vehicle before we left. He also put gas in before we left! The whole experience was phenomenal. I would definitely go back. I have stopped at Auffenberg motors for years. I have never purchased anything from the dealership because of the sorry approach and gloomy attitude I received when I did stop. But now is different. There has been a complete change of attitude and atmosphere in the dealership. I met the new GM that actually lived in Alaska for some time. Great stories and great attitude. Very refreshing from the previous managers that were there. The good ole boy club gets old after a while. Stop by and see Ryan and his new crew. New Service manager, New Parts Manager, New office manager and last but assuredly not least a New Business manager and his name is ACTUALLY Ricky Bobby!! Great new team----- Get some advertising out there Ryan!!! People need to know you are there!!

The service department is run by a service manager that drives customers away. He lacks just common courtesy, and is a bully. When confronted that he made a mistake he won't listen. He gets angry quickly, and refuses to listen to reason. Perhaps the biggest reason people do not return is the rudeness of the service manager. My advice is have nothing to do with the service manager.

GREAT EXPERIENCE - LDane

It's been nearly 5 years since I've financed a car and I was dreading it based on previous experiences. In the past it's been an all day process, I had to talk to multiple people to get a final price, trade-in value and financing options and there was always miles of paperwork to sign. Not so this time. I spent about 30 minutes after work talking with Doug Wade, taking a test drive and giving him general financial information for loan approval. He called first thing the next morning to let me know what an awesome rate Raeann was able to get me, so I went up on my lunch hour and was able to sign all paperwork during that time and walk out the door with the keys to my new car. I will definitely do business with them again.
