I purchased a 2020 Kia Telluride from Toyota of Rockwall on June 7th. Shortly after the purchase, the vehicle indicated that it needed an oil change. I was told the vehicle had been inspected before being s on June 7th. Shortly after the purchase, the vehicle indicated that it needed an oil change. I was told the vehicle had been inspected before being sold, so this was concerning. When I took it in for an oil change a few days later, I was told it had little to no oil. Shortly after that, the engine failed while I was driving on the highway with my kids 10 minutes away from the dealership and the vehicle had to be towed at my expense and repaired. The repair process took a significant amount of time and required multiple attempts. Now, over a year later, the vehicle is still having issues, including the check engine light coming on and other engine related concerns. Communication was one of the biggest frustrations. I had difficulty getting clear updates and reaching management. I requested that communication be handled by text or email, but was still asked to discuss matters by phone. I also had difficulty getting a response from the general manager and was never given an opportunity to speak with the owners despite asking. When the vehicle originally broke down, I was told by the general manager that once it was repaired, they could work with us on trading it for another three row vehicle with little to no money down. After the repair, however, we were told a RAV4 would require around $4,000 down and a Highlander around $10,000–$12,000 down. We were eventually given a $1,500 check that management had offered because of the trouble we experienced, which I do appreciate. However, we were also asked to remove our reviews as part of resolving the situation. As recently as September 2025, I contacted the dealership after receiving another engine notification and was told in writing that Kia would be responsible for any further engine issues. I understand that used vehicles can have mechanical issues, but having an engine failure shortly after purchase, being told the vehicle had been inspected beforehand, being told it had little to no oil shortly after purchasing it, going through a lengthy repair process, experiencing difficulty communicating with management, and still having engine related issues over a year later has made this a very disappointing purchase. This is my personal experience as a customer, and I hope it helps others make an informed decision. More
