On Saturday July 26th, 2014, the car completely died while we were traveling in Georgia. We had the car towed to the closest VW dealer (Butler VW in Macon Georgia). It is now Thursday, July 31st and Lakeland VW has not tried to help us at all. I have directly emailed the General Manager and received no response. Our salesman emailed us and said, sorry, but since it was used you never know what could happen. NOBODY from the dealer has offered to assist us in anyway. We have no loaner car....by day 5!!!! We've asked at least 3 times with no response. No one has offered to assist us in getting our car back from Georgia. The lack of response is actually absurd. And as it turns out, this is a 2 week repair because our High Pressure Fuel System "disintegrated"...yes you read that correctly. Disintegrated. We've opened up a case with Volkswagen Customer Service to try and get help elsewhere because it's been made perfectly clear that we can not rely on Lakeland VW to make good on the car they sold us. Bottom line, Lakeland VW will tell you anything you want to hear to make the sale, but they will ignore you when you need service. I am thoroughly disappointed and disgusted with our experience and would never recommend Lakeland VW to anyone. You should be ashamed of yourselves for treating a customer this way! More

I was recently in the market to purchase my second Jetta. I love the Volkswagen brand, but I’m not a fan of the new body style, so I decided to go with a CPO vehicle. I searched all around the Southeast and I love the Volkswagen brand, but I’m not a fan of the new body style, so I decided to go with a CPO vehicle. I searched all around the Southeast and found the exact one I wanted at Lakeland VW. A few days later, I drove from my home in Atlanta down to Florida to purchase my new car. Hours after my purchase, I contacted the dealership with issues that I noticed with my air conditioning while driving home. In response to problems with my air, the finance manager offered not to fix a car that was obviously not functioning correctly on their lot, but to sell me an additional warranty on top of the one that came with the car. A few days later, I contacted the general manager, Jared, who refused to reimburse me for the $50 deductible that I would have to pay to have my air fixed under the car’s existing warranty. He insisted that he could not even write me a check, but that the only way he could get around the deductible was for me to drive eight hours from Atlanta back down to Lakeland. When I commented to the general manager that I would spend more than $50 in gas driving down there, Jared was still unconcerned and steadfast in his decision. I contacted Volkswagen Corporate with the bad business practices of Lakeland VW and they stepped up to do what was right by paying to have my air fixed. To rectify the issue with my air, the compressor had to be replaced and now my air works fine. I have no idea why the general manager was so rude and was such a jerk about fixing something that was clearly not right when he sold me the car, but I will definitely not even consider Lakeland VW for my third Volkswagen purchase. I would like to say my experience with Lakeland VW was an emotional up and down experience. Buying a car is one many find to be a stressful situation. So the best thing you can encounter is a knowledgable sa emotional up and down experience. Buying a car is one many find to be a stressful situation. So the best thing you can encounter is a knowledgable sales person who has been with the company for Many years.. Our Sales person Jared Miller was a very friendly and amazing person. He answered all the questions my husband and I had and he showed empathy, care, compassion, and concern when he saw that I was not pleased after signing my paperwork. He has called to check up on us and has understood our concerns with the situations we have experienced. A sales person such as Jared deserves many great praises. He would receive a gold star if it was my decision. My hope for the future with this dealership is that I will experience nothing less then amazing service from anyone my husband and I come in contact with. We love our car and have enjoyed having it. I thank Jared Diveley for doing what was in his power to rectifiy part of the situations that I was not pleased with. If the manager continues to educate all of his staff on customer service and the value of making your customers feel important. The whole VW staff should take his education and follow in the foot steps of the best sales/customer service associate on staff at Lakeland VW - Jared Miller. At this point I would feel comfortable recommending Lakeland VW to a friend, but I would recommend they ask to work directly with Jared Miller and I would recommend they go in with their own financing completed before making a deal. Lakeland VW had a used 2005 Pontiac Vibe listed on Cars.com that I was interested in. I contacted the dealer using the form on Cars.com. I asked two specific questions. What was the asking price of Cars.com that I was interested in. I contacted the dealer using the form on Cars.com. I asked two specific questions. What was the asking price of the car and what was their dealer fee? They answered both questions promptly and Marina Nikovic, their Internet Manager, followed up with me the next day on the phone to see if I had any other questions. What impressed me was that they were genuine and did not pressure me one bit about selling the vehicle. I explained to Marina that I would be driving almost 3 hours to come see and probably buy the Vibe. All she asked was if I knew a day and time so they could be ready for my arrival. I made the trip and when I parked my car I was immediately greeted by Jared Miller, my sales consultant I spoke with on the phone. He went and got the Vibe and pulled it around for me to take a look at. Nice touch to get the car and bring it to me. We took a test drive and looked over the vehicle. At no point did I feel rushed or pressured. They took a look at my trade while we did the test drive. After telling Jared it was only a matter of agreeing on a price we went to his office to negotiate. Small things like opening the door for me and offering me something to drink really showed me they care about their customers. This deal was pretty easy as I knew I wanted the Vibe and I knew exactly what price I was willing to pay after my trade-in, dealer fee, and other fees. They gave me a price and I told them the number they needed to get to for the deal to happen. One trip to the manager's office and Jared was back to congratulate me on the purchase of my new car :-) No back and forth, just a willingness to make the deal happen even if they did not get their number they wanted. They wanted to gain me as a customer, not just sell me a car. The business manager (sorry, forgot his name) made the whole paperwork process go fast and smooth. They were even willing to let me use my credit card to pay for the purchase after I realized that I had left my check book on my desk back home. The Sales Manager, Jared Diveley, stopped in to thank me for my business. Another nice touch considering the store was getting ready to close and everybody probably wanted to go home to their families. Jared Miller transferred my license plate to my new car and helped me move all my belongings to my new Vibe. It's things like this that really make this dealer stand out as a place I would happily return to buy another vehicle or recommend to my friends and family that are in the market for a vehicle. I say all of these nice things because the big dealership up the street that had another Vibe for sale would not tell me the price of the vehicle, their dealer fee, nor provide me with pictures of the vehicle. They wanted to know what the price of the Vibe I was looking at so they could match or beat that price. It's been over a week and I still have no price, no dealer fee, and no pictures from this other dealership. Hats off to the entire staff at Lakeland VW. Thanks for a great deal on a great car and a no BS approach to the car buying experience! Keep up the great work. More
