Everyone I had contact with was friendly, answered all my questions - all in all made my car purchase extremely easy. This is our second subaru outback we have purchased from Dean Team Subaru. They are low pressure and minimal haggling. Two of the best traits a dealer can have. I purchased a 2020 WRX less than one week ago. I just discovered that the dean team front license plate place holder is just screwed into the plastic on the front bumper. There is no front license plate bracket, the screws are just going in to random blank plastic. It looks like xxxx up close. I attempted to contact Jack Harrison, the sales guy who sold me the car, and was told that he no longer works for Dean Team and that I should contact John Ostlund the sales manager. I contacted John and he just gave me the run around and went so far as to lie to my face and say that the car came with dimples and pre drilled holes in the front bumper for US license plates. This is not the case, it's pretty easy to google pics just to verify, and the only holes in the front bumper are not the US license plate holes, and there are no dimples period. He also tried to tell me that all the cars on the lot have the Dean Team place holder already installed which is also a lie, there are numerous vehicles pictured on their own website with no place holders on the front and my WRX did not have one at the time I test drove it, it was installed at the same time they put the temp tag on the rear of the vehicle. I requested for the piece of the bumper to be replaced and he again launched into some excuses about pre-drilled holes (that don't exist) and that's just how they mount them on all the outbacks and foresters (apparently forgetting that I bought a WRX) and eventually told me that he would have to contact his GM but his GM would be off till wednesday. This is by far the worst experience I have ever had with any dealer. It's a shame because the buying part of the experience was pretty good, but with how poorly this is being handled, and how poorly I am being treated I will never be back, and I strongly discourage anyone from wasting their time here. If you ever have a problem here, they will lie to your face and run you around and not do anything about it. Update: I have again spoken directly to John Ostlund and been given the run around. He again tried to brush me off and not do anything about my front bumper. He did eventually call the GM although he requested that I leave the office for him to make that call so I question whether or not he actually did. Then he informed me that Dean Team would not replace the bumper, and instead offered a license plate bracket to hide the damage. I refused the bracket and requested a refund for interior and paint protection services I paid for at the time I purchased the vehicle (which had not been applied yet). It took about 45 minutes for him to get a check in my hands for the refund. After departing the dealer I started a claim with my insurance company and at their advice also made a complaint with Subaru of America. I will update once I hear back from my insurance and Subaru of America. Final Update: My claim was approved with the insurance company the next day and they were more than happy to replace the bumper and stated point blank that the damage was the result of a deliberate act on the part of Dean Team and therefore it would be very cut and dry their financial responsibility but I wouldn't have to worry about that the insurance would pay for it and recover their costs from Dean Team. I requested that we wait for the time being as I had not yet heard back from Subaru of America and I wanted to give them a chance to respond. Later that day I received an email from Kristen Weaver with Subaru of America stating that she had taken over the case and gave me a deadline for when she would call me and she was going to contact the dealership as well. The following day I received a call from Kristen and she was very apologetic about the whole situation and stated that this was poorly handled and never should have needed to be escalated like this. She agreed to get my bumper replaced at no cost to me and allowed me to choose a different dealership to do the work as I stated that I would prefer to not have to deal with the staff at Dean Team again. More
