Reggie and Mike did it again! I cannot stop smiling. Two new cars and making every financial move the absolute most possible thing. I already brought family three times, now it's just a matter of returning new cars and making every financial move the absolute most possible thing. BAIT AND SWITCH TACTICS ......I came into the dealership on Thurs Feb 25th and worked with Paul for 4 hours on a new MDX and new RDX for my father ( 2 cars). I had reached out to this dealer via the Costco on Thurs Feb 25th and worked with Paul for 4 hours on a new MDX and new RDX for my father ( 2 cars). I had reached out to this dealer via the Costco auto program, they are going to love getting the info on this deal. When I went into the dealer Jackson Acura gave me the numbers for residual, downpayment, and monthly payment including tax etc. They agreed to the deal of the numbers that THEY provided to me on paper. They initialed the sheet and took my deposit via my American Express on both vehicles. This was typical car dealer experience. When I say typical I mean very similar to being in a Chevrolet or Toyota dealer but far from the excellence of a Lexus buying experience. They overnight the paperwork to my father. It arrives and when he is going over the paperwork the RDX is now over $3,700 more and the MDX is $800 more. I have these photos of both and will post them as well. I call Paul and he says humm let me check on it. He calls back and says " I made a mistake and the numbers I gave you weren't right". Of course this is unacceptable and I explain that to him. He takes responsibility immediately. The next person to call me is Michael Cunningham the dealer manager ( I don't know this for sure but this is what he said). Michael started off by saying " Well what do you think is going on here because if you are thinking any of this is malicious then it would be best for us to cut our ties and not do business at all." I explained to Michael that I am not making any judgements at this point and ill take it as they tell me and I have no reason to view it any other way if they are going to respond and fix this in a reasonable way. Michael says Paul made a mistake and the numbers are incorrect. I explained to Michael that Paul came in the office and Michael approved the deal, Michael claims he didn't see all the numbers and he only knew about the payment. All Pauls fault is where he went with this. At this point he starts painting everything with a broad brush and continues to blame this on Paul. I find it inexcusable that Paul spent 30 mins in the office with Michael and Michael has some kind of plausible denial or excuse that he wasn't aware of the numbers when he is the person who approves the sale. If Michael isn't responsible for ALL of the numbers on a car sale, what is he there for? The most unprofessional part of this whole bait and switch was Michaels lack of taking responsibility for a mistake in the numbers. He was ok to blame this on the salesman who was busting his xxx to try to make the sale, calling me from home, following up repeatedly. Meeting me there and having to leave home as he was also dealing with his sick wife. Paul is a real nice gentleman who cares is passionate at the least. Micael then said, "If I cut you a check for the difference would that fix everything?" and I responded " Yes, that would work because that would be what we agreed on and I am not asking for anything but for you to honor our agreement." He says " Ok, ill call you back." He calls back then explains the most he can do is taking $1500 off of our downpayment on the entire deal and that unfortunately we would be left sharing 70% of their mistake and they would eat the 30%. This is probably one of the worst customer services positions I have ever heard. I explained to Michael I appreciate that at least the salesman is willing to take some blame but that doesn't change the circumstances. The next thing out of Michael's mouth was probably one of the most unprofessional statements I have heard in my life. Michael says " If you go into Wal Mart and there is a 60 inch TV that is $1000 and its marked for $11 they aren't going to sell you the TV. There are two issues fundamentally incorrect about his statement. One is that I had a signed and verbally agreed deal that Michael took deposits on. Two, if there was a manager at any Wal Mart in the nation that had a written and signed deal that he was going to honor a mismarked TV, you can bet your job Wal Mart is going to stand behind it and so will that manager. One thing is for sure, Mr. Cunningham never worked for corporate Wal Mart. Having said that, this is the first dealer I have come across that sells high end cars that wants to compare itself to Wal Mart. One thing Mr. Cunningham needs to do is go to Wal Mart and get some fabric cleaner and clean the disgusting stains on the chairs in your sales people offices. That should have been my first clue about the way Mr. Cunningham runs his dealership. If you look at my google review by doing a google search for the dealer you can see the photos of the initial agreement and where they took my deposit and then you can see the contracts they sent via Fedex, then decide for yourself. If this is how they treat you when your buying a car there, imagine if you ever had an issue they required them to go above and beyond. I also out this review on their facebook page and they deleted it. Clearly they only want you to see the good reviews and not the truth. More
