My wife and I just left Curtiss Ryan Honda. We met our salesperson Joe and told him we have a ‘17 Honda Pilot and we were looking to upgrade to a new Pilot. We explained we came because they had great rev salesperson Joe and told him we have a ‘17 Honda Pilot and we were looking to upgrade to a new Pilot. We explained we came because they had great reviews. Joe found the one new Pilot they had and after we looked at it, we started asking questions about the price. Joe completely shuts us down and tells us his hands are tied and there is no negotiation. We asked if we could speak to a manager and he replied that that’s just what it is because of the low inventory. We again asked to speak to a sales manager and he agreed. He came back and told us after speaking to one of the owners, they could discount $300 on “this” and points at a sign. We asked what this was and he said -“this what’s on the sign”. All he did was pick up the sign and read it. He did not educate us on what it was or why getting a discount off of it is worthwhile. He said multiple times how his hands were tied and he did not make the experience personal at all by not even trying to build rapport. They (Joe and co-owner) expected us to just buy because of low inventory vs earning our business. I don’t know if there is just a lack of training or if it was because I was in sweatpants and a hoodie. Between the salesperson and the poor process they follow, I will not be back to Curtiss Ryan Honda. If I was on the leadership team with Honda, I would be disappointed and embarrassed to know my team represents the brand this way. More
