Great service I worked with Higor in the service department: he was extremely competent, pleasant, helpful and efficient. I spent less than thirty minutes total at the service center including drop off and pick up (returning the loaner too!) Highly recommend it! More

Poor information given and no one answers the phone I had made a request for a loner car, and was told that there was one that would be available to me, and then on the day I had told them I would be in I had made a request for a loner car, and was told that there was one that would be available to me, and then on the day I had told them I would be in, the car was not ready and I had to wait on the phone and at the dealership for over 2 hours before they took me to the rental car center. Also, every time I tried to reach my associate I was on hold for over 10 minutes and many times wasn't even able to talk to him. I believe their system for dealing with calls doesn't work for the service center on any level. I was very disappointed with the service, especially since the repairs were so expensive. I will not buy a BMW again, and will not buy from Herb Chambers again, either. More
Little help with the navigation system issue The new BMW X5 has a navigation system issue, which is not resolved till now. It does not work properly, pointing to the completely wrong addresses. No-one at Herb Chambers helped with finding a solution. The car was taken in and given out from service in the exactly same condition. No next steps, no clarity on what needs to be done. More
Frustrating Sales Experience I don't even know where to start. I was in the market for a CPO BMW X1, and found two I was interested in at Herb Chambers. Ajah, the digital sales re I don't even know where to start. I was in the market for a CPO BMW X1, and found two I was interested in at Herb Chambers. Ajah, the digital sales rep sent me a list of ones they had available. I live in Providence, RI so I called her the evening before to make sure they were still available before taking an hour train ride to Boston on a Saturday. I was assured they were. When I arrived at the dealership, after over an hour train ride, I was told that both vehicles had been in fact sold SEVERAL DAYS prior. I nearly got up and walked out, but agreed to take a look at a few others they had available. I was shown one I liked, and the price was right so I decided to pull the trigger on it. I was aware of the B Pillar recall on the X1, but was assured by my salesman, it would take a week, maybe two at most to have the issue resolved. What followed was about a month of no car and just trying to get some sort of information from the salesman about what was happening, which was like pulling teeth. After a week I called to get a status update, my salesman said he would check but never called back. I called again the next week and got a vague "maybe end of the week". Never heard back. Repeated calls the third week went unanswered, but I finally got in contact with a sales manager who personally went to the service department to give me an update. Finally on Friday of the third week the recall work was done-- all that remained was to get the car registered. Monday went by with no update. Tuesday went by with no update. Wednesday morning I got ahold of salesman, but he never followed up on the status. Finally Wednesday evening I lost patience and asked to speak to a sales manager and threatened to pull the deal, since it had now been nearly a month with basically zero communication and seemingly little regard for customer service. To be fair, the sales manager Jano was extremely helpful and courteous, and promptly dealt with getting my car registered in Rhode Island the next day-- even going so far as to text with me after hours to make sure all the documentation was in order. Had I dealt with her this entire time instead of the salesman, I would be giving this dealership a 5 star rating. I want to be clear that I know that getting recall parts is largely outside the dealership's control. My issue was the complete lack of communication from sales. This was a huge purchase for me (for anyone, actually), and to be left in the dark for nearly a month, and for it to get to the point I had to repeatedly go to a sales manager to get some sort of update is completely unacceptable. When I did finally take delivery, the car was spotless, drives like a dream and I couldn't be happier with the vehicle itself. It's just too bad it was such an ordeal to get it. I know dealerships make little money on CPO vehicles, but after this experience I will not be going back to them for service (where they do actually make money). More
