OUR HISTORY
Walt DeBoer founded Lithia Motors in 1946 as a Chrysler-Plymouth-Dodge dealership in Ashland, Oregon. Following Walt’s death in 1968, Walt’s son Sid along with Dick Heimann, grew the business to include 5 stores and 19 franchises in Southern Oregon. In December 1996, this collection of dealerships was transformed into Lithia Motors, Inc., a publicly traded company (NYSE stock symbol-LAD). We envisioned a company that would continuously grow, provide great customer service, and opportunities for employees.
TODAY
Lithia is one of America’s largest automotive retailers featuring most domestic and import franchises. Our stores serve urban and rural populations throughout the Western and Midwest United States.
We are focused on providing customers with an honest and simpler buying and service experience. We are giving customers straightforward information so that they can make confident decisions.
We believe that our local communities are our lifeblood. In addition to the employment opportunities we provide in each of our neighborhoods, we also provide contributions to charitable organizations that serve our families, friends, and customers.

He formed a relationship with my boyfriend and I so much so that there were points when I almost forgot that he was trying to sell me a car. His kindness, patience, and willingness to listen was much appreciated and, in my experience, far exceeds that of many of his competitors. Automatic engine shut off at stop not working. Went in to find out why. Car under warranty. Told there would be $180 charge if repair required. Not told that problem is most probably caused by older battery and I should not worry about it unless problem remains after purchasing a new battery. They charged up my battery - big job. When I picked up vehicle auto turn off still didn't work. And it cost me $180 for a trickle charge that didn't make any difference in the problem. Battery still working fine to start car. I won't return to you folks for future issues or service. More
