We had a great experience at Heritage Volkswagen in - uevoli619
We had a great experience at Heritage Volkswagen in Catonsville thanks to an outstanding sales team, Bill Devine, Joshua Gillions, and especially our Sales Associate, Stephen Peller. Stephen was extremely patient, accommodating and didn't make us feel pressured at all. He was committed to finding us the perfect vehicle to meet our needs.
We have purchased quite a few vehicles over the years and this was one of our best experiences.
We recommend you check out Heritage for your next purchase and ask for Stephen Peller!

Just purchased my new VW from Fitzgerald - was looking - neteng101
Just purchased my new VW from Fitzgerald - was looking for a certain model, trim and color for my GLI and these are hard to find given the inventory issues. Previously inquired and was told they had a deposit on an incoming car, but would contact me if the person cancelled. Melissa contacted me when the car came in and was available - arranged initial numbers incl. my trade in virtually since I'm from out of town. Drove down and picked up the car - no pricing surprises/markups, fair trade-in value - thanks for the hassle free car buying experience!

Second time buying a car from Heritage VW and working with Josh. As before, Josh was friendly, honest and straightforward…the consummate professional, My salesman, Jermaine Pratt was friendly, knowledgeable and appropriately attentive. I never felt any pressure and he worked hard to find the right vehicle to suit my requirements. I highly recommend Josh, Jermaine, and the rest of the Heritage Volkswagen staff.

The Sales Manager (AJ Cuffee) is rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional. My recommendation is to take your money elsewhere, they don't deserve your business.
The car works, wonderfully. - hampto46
The car works, wonderfully. When I make a large purchase from individuals who begins to act suspect their actions cast doubt over the entire transaction. It's been inspected twice.3 days ago my radio malfunctioned. My mother recommended that, because of how new the car is I take it back to where I purchased it. My response to her after my ONGOING Ourisman nightmare, They barely sold me a car. I would not trust Oruisman of Rockville to make me a sandwich. Start at phone and email follow up and maybe someday when you're ready you can touch my car. Ourisman was given all the documents 2 weeks in advance. Informed of my need to have most, if not all of the things that to not require my presence done prior to my arrival due to time constraints multiple times, culminating in an email that laid expectations, the cost of the Uber ($112) if things fell through, and identifying my redlines before ending "Your professionals, I trust your judgment. Understanding the dollar amounts I provided that would block me from proceeding, do you recommend I come in on Friday to finish things up? With that info if you say yes, I’ll be there!" I was reassured. I got there at 9am in an Uber after calling to ask why the ride were supposed to arrange had not contacted me and I was told he forgot and asked to get there on my own. I will not leave the dealership until 5:30pm.
If the things you'd promised me were done were not done I think its fair to say you're honesty may be questionable. I'd selected a vehicle and over the course of 72 hours prior to the sales date I'd made multiple contacts with my consultant during all of those calls something slipped his mind. When I sat in the chair I was informed that the car I selected was gone. He then began looking over his shoulder and asking if I wanted random cars from the lot. Suspicious, I turned off silence on my phone and sat it on the desk, then went out into the lot and gave him 2 options. Financing is supposed to be largely done. Mastercard Identity Protect is the fastest credit monitoring gun in the west + I thought it hilarious years ago to make my text tone the chorus of "Last Night a DJ Save My Life." If you'd fudged the truth about completing any of this work, i.e. Financing, that you assured me had been done prior to my arrival. Talked to financing to engage them ASAP, then came to let me know it will be a few minutes as they quickly processed credit applications, you'd need to speak a little louder. The Sales consultant, Sales floor manager, finance representative , and the GENERAL MANGER needed to speak up. Mastercard flagging all of he new activity and texting it to me. For 8 hours every time someone at Ourisman was on their way to or in the process of lying to me about financing they needed to speak up because, "Last night a DJ saved my life."
Ignoring me having to pay for the Uber they promised me there.Warning! EVERYONE: Get paper version of your vehicle sales documents. No one knows how to operate that fancy tech they are using. When they ask you to set a password during signing allow me to finish what they do not explain. This password will be used to unlock the package that will be emailed to you containing all proof of purchase documents.I know the password I set and its not working I tested and confirmed that ZIP package is corrupted. I identified the issue at 6:30pm 23 days ago and it is still ongoing. For 23 days the car has been parked on the Street. My property manager must have proof of a valid inspection to issue a parking pass. It is inside of the Zip package. I cannot get phone calls returned. Emails go unanswered. This is still happening as of 9/11/22 @ 12:38pm. Thursday of last week, SURPRISE HERO the finance company horrified by what is occurring right now at Ourisman refused to execute the loan. While she couldn't think of a way to get me all 10 documents due to me, she could refuse until I had documents specific to financing. I had a sales contract in 3 minutes. 1 down 9 to go.
DARCARS Assurance ($2,495) is optional
Buyer beware: - josemedina23
DARCARS Assurance ($2,495) is optional
Buyer beware: No matter how hard the sales manager tries to upsell you the “DARCARS Assurance,” keep in mind this $2,500 service is completely optional.
I recently went to buy a car at DARCARS at Silver Spring and when we went to finalize the transaction, a surprise charge of $2,500 was added to our bill. Keep in mind that this is not a service we requested nor wanted. We asked the sales consultant if it was optional and she said it was. Then, the sales manager clearly undermined her and stated it was NOT an optional service. I was ready to walk away from the transaction as it was very dishonest and underhanded. Luckily, we discussed this with the finance manager and with support from the general manager, he was able to rectify the situation and remove the $2,500 charge from the bill.
If you are going to buy a car from this dealership, please ask for all charges upfront, so that you do not end up with a $2,500 surprise, as the sales manager is going to try very hard to sell it to you. Remember, DARCARS Assurance is optional, not mandatory.
From the moment I arrived at the dealership everyone was - Madison.barclay1
From the moment I arrived at the dealership everyone was friendly and the environment was incredibly welcoming! The entire experience was smooth and enjoyable, when usually it can be very stressful. Erick was a WONDERFUL salesman. He listened to all of my wants, concerns and needs, and made sure we found the perfect car for me. He was throughout and made sure to walk me through every step of the process. I felt at ease and knew I made the right decision coming to this dealership.
Teena is absolutely the best hands down. - bprice838
Teena is absolutely the best hands down. I did a search on a Sunday not knowing the dealership was closed. Teena emailed, texted, and called me back on her off day. I explained I had a check in hand and the vehicle my husband and I wanted, we set an appointment for the next day. Teena had already had our vehicle washed and ready to go. The process was seamless and she was just so nice and warm. She is great at her job and I felt like we had known her for years. I will be referring my family to Teena, her customer service is outstanding and we love our 2022 Atlas.
My experience was horrible. - demetrius.hawkins
My experience was horrible. Before going to purchase a 2022 Arteon, I asked multiple times about the price listed on cars.com being the actual price of the car. I was told multiple times..."yes." I took the following day off from work, I picked up my check from NFCU, I had my down payment, everything ready to go. I get to the dealership, I test drove the car and we started the paper work. Went as far as adding the car to my insurance. The salesman stepped away for a while and came back stating that there was an error and the price was actually over 10k more than what was posted on cars.com. After spending more than two hours at the dealership I left with nothing. It was a horrible experience. The manager didn't even come out to greet and or speak with me. I wouldn't recommend purchasing a car from this place. I got the same car from another dealership a few days later.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP! - Dissatisfied Customer
STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP!!! My vehicle buying experience was horrible. It was filled with empty promises and deceit, and I hope the used car sales department does not work like this on a regular basis. The Volvo corporate office should investigate the practices that are being followed at the Bethesda, MD. location. Now, I do not even trust that the car I purchased does not have major problems. I wish I would have purchased the Volvo warranty and gone to a different Volvo dealership.
Also, for the past few weeks I have left numerous messages for the GM, used car manager, and the person who sold me the car to give me a call to resolve a warranty issue I had (which I paid out of pocket $1200) but no one has returned my calls. The check engine light came on right after I purchased the car.

We bought from them in 2020 and took delivery of a replacement for that Atlas in 2021. That was a good experience. However, we are now in the market for an EV and found dealers closer to me that had the ID.4 which was one we were looking at. The closest dealer to me was selling at MSRP but because King worked a good deal with us before, we decided to give them a chance. They have several but are participating in taking advantage of people and marking up 8k over sticker. It's now in Tesla Model Y price range and more expensive than the Mach E AWD we are looking at. I will not support any dealer that does this and encourage all to do the same. They will need customers in the near future when sales are tight. They have lost a once satisfied customer.
Don't Finance Through Dealership - rsl809
I wish I could review the sales and finance departments at this dealership separately, as my experiences with each department were like night and day. The sales department is great, and if you're interested in a Volkswagen, I strongly recommend working with Rachael. She'll provide you with an itemized quote so that you can compare prices with other dealers. She's not pushy at all, and I found that AutoNation provided the lowest price for the car that I was interested in.
My experience with the finance department was not so great. When I met with the finance manager, I was told that a 1.9 APR only applied to a 36 month loan, and that a 60 month loan had a slightly higher APR. I decided to go with the 60 month loan. I then went home to find that AutoNation was in fact advertising a 1.9 APR for 60 month loans on its website. I contacted my finance manager, who acted surprised and said he'd look into it. A few days (and several phone calls and emails later), I'm told I can drive the 60 miles to the dealership to sign the paperwork for the lower APR. When I asked to be compensated for my time, gas, and mileage, the finance manager refused. Remember, this is a 'mistake' that he made, and I'm expected to waste my time to come in? Thanks, but no thanks. I ended up financing from a bank with the same APR and actually received a snarky email response from Robert. The joke is on him though, as he won't receive a kickback because I'm not financing through the dealership.
If you're interested in a VW and AutoNation offers you the lowest price, either pay in cash, finance through your own bank or credit union, or know the terms and conditions of AutoNation's incentives. (I'd suggest pulling it up on your phone before meeting with finance.)
I generally do not go online and provide reviews but I - robertumbel
I generally do not go online and provide reviews but I felt the need to share my experience at Pohanka VW service department. In December 2021 while visiting Maryland we took our Volkswagen Tiguan in for oil change, tire rotation and advised Gabe the service writer the vehicle was consuming/burning oil at a rate of 2 Q's every few weeks. The Technician advised we needed a new engine because the engine had an internal seal/gasket leak allowing oil to be burned internal although no evidence of oil found leaking on the ground. We were getting ready to return home to Florida after the holidays and did not want to have an engine failure while driving so we took their advise and approved engine replacement at $10k and purchased a Powertrain extended service contract for peace of mind. Shortly after arriving in Florida the check engine light came on! I took the vehicle in to our local Volkswagen dealer to determine what was going on. The Technician advised the vehicle needs a new turbo. I could not understand how the turbo could fail as soon as a new engine is installed unless the Turbo was actually the reason for original concern “burning oil”? Did the Technician at Pohanka VW mis-diagnosed the root cause of the oil consumption? I believe so, because the Technician never did a tear down to determine cause! I thought to myself well I have a powertrain service contract so the turbo would be covered minus my deductible. Well Easycare the service contract provided does not cover a turbo as part of their Powertrain contract it is a high tech item. I have called Pohanka VW and tried speaking with Gabe and left voicemail messages for John the Servicer Manager but no one has reached out to me or returned my calls!! I feel taken advantage of by Pohanka VW from the Service Department and Caroline in the Finance Department for selling me a contract that doesn’t cover a powertrain component such a Turbo that is part of the engine. I recommend you avoid this Dealership!!!
Just wanted to take a minute to express my complete... - Ron Lindberg JR
Just wanted to take a minute to express my complete dissatisfaction dealing with Sheehy VW of Hagerstown. My wife and I traveled 2 hours to test drive a VW EOS convertible. Upon driving it we noticed a slight shaking at acceleration. Took car back and told Tim Taylor about it. Tim called Kevin who came down and took it for a drive. He came back said he felt it and would have the service department nook at it on Monday or Tuesday as the day of the test drive was Saturday. Tuesday Tim called and said the car needed new A ARMS and they had too much money in the car and would just sell it at auction. My wife and I made an offer to buy the car and we would get the work done locally. I only offered the price of the car minus the amount to get it repaired. Tim said no they could not do that. Then I started calling. 4 calls to Tim, no reply. 4 calls to Kevin, no reply. Then I called the new car manager. We talked for about 10 minutes. He thought was that because they had so much money in the car that they could repair it and put the repair cost on top of the price of the car. I said no way. The car was already slightly over Kelley Blue Book price. He told me he would get back to me but that they would not sell the car without disclosing the fact that it needed A ARMS. He also told me someone would call me Monday or Tuesday. That was three weeks ago. Another call to Tim and another to Kevin. No response. I have since bought another car. I would not waste my time with any Sheehy dealership again. Car is still for sale. No mention of the A Arm issue. Thanks for reading
The finance guy was fantastic, but I am really upset with - Cole
The finance guy was fantastic, but I am really upset with the sales guy (Leon Johnson). He lied, and omitted information that related to how much I would pay in the end. He also told stories and bragged about how many cars he sells a month, as well as how he and 2 other guys are so much better than everyone else who works there. I'm most upset about the lie related to the interest rates.
Edit: They had multiple "Optional charges", meaning they are not required by law, but did not make it clear they were optional. I ended up spending $3,000 more than I had to, all because I was watching them under a microscope.
Good experience - sksksk
Richie was my salesmen for one of the last 2015 Golf TDIs made for sale by VW. Richie was honest, forthright and carefully handled the vehicle sale process. He was respectful of my time coming from 35 miles away, and presented no surprises during the sales process. I've not heard good things about VW dealerships but my experience here was easy and above board. Ask for Richie if you're in the market for a VW.
